great product , was easy to adjust to the pitch line

Cant have any framing behind it on a plywood inst.
Partially damaged and really doesn't work for a surface mount! The back side that isn't shown in any pictures and has a 2" protrusion out the back of it that needs to enter the structure. How is that going to work with 2 X 4's on the other side of 1/2" plywood? Being as wide as it is I cant Imagine anything stick built not having framing in the way. I was hoping the outer frame was rectangle tubing or channel but couldn't tell from the pic's
