This eyeliner at first glance was pretty scary with the pointed applicator and all, but after watching a few tutorials and experimenting I found that it worked better on the waterline of the eye, good staying power, had to reapply only once after 8 hrs of work. I would definitely but this product again in all different colors.
I've never been a person who is good at putting on makeup. Most of the time I just go without. But my sister-in-law turned me on to this eyeliner and the eyeshadows that go with it and wow what a difference! It's easy to put on, it stays on and it's pretty! I have never gotten compliments on my makeup until I started using this product. Thank you Loreal!!!
Perfect for tightlining your eyes! The black color does not appear irridescent on me. Looks dark, matte and opaque like a true kohl liner. I apply it by closing my eyes and dragging the tip between my closed lids. Takes a bit of practice but this is the best way to get your water line and minimize fallout.
There really should be a tutorial for these. I think they are best on the waterline (inside the rim of the lower lashline where it meets the eyeball). How I use these: 1) Hold the applicator horizontally and use the side of the applicator to PRESS the pigment into the waterline. 2) Repeat slowly untill the entire waterline is lined. 3) Close eyes firmly to transfer the line to upper lid. Fill any gaps in the line with the point of the applicator. 4) Enjoy your dramatic smokey liner look!
When I found this product I was so excited. It was easy to apply and stayed on all day without running or smearing. Then, after a couple weeks the applicator bent and it was hard to use. I bought a new one and used that applicator but it bent immediately. I put a toothpick in it and the product had hardened up. I mixed it up with the toothpick and used it a couple more days but it hardened up again. I would continue to use this product if L'Oreal could change it to stop clumping.
This eyeliner is very weird and hard to use. The wand inside is the same exact hard felt tip that most liquid eyeliner bottles have, though it really does not work for this product. Because the product is a powder, when you use the wand included yeah, you get it on your lids as liner, but also a LOT on powder falls down into your eyes and cheeks. When I've tried to use a different brush with it it's hard to get it in the bottle. The color is pretty, but...
I was disappointed at how the bits flake onto your cheeks. this is not smudgeproof. It is dry in the container but does have a fabulous applicator. Not bad, but I prefer their bencils and I am disappointed of the 4 color selection there. i'd love to see these colors in the pencils.
I loved the product at first. It looks great and stays on great. But it is messy to apply (gets on checks). Then after a week or so, the texture changes and it doesn't go on as well and the tip of the applicator starts to curl. I bought a second one just to see if maybe the first one was just bad, but the same things happened. I love how it looks, I've been looking for something like it for a long time, but there are too many cons. I don't think I will be purchasing it again.
i bought the HIP eyeliner to have a softer look than a liquid. The brush is not a brush, but a piece of hard plastic. As I draw it across my lid, the powder falls on my cheek. Then it is very difficult to remove from there and I have to re-do my foundation...... This product is expensive to just sit in my makeup drawer....
I love the intense color and the soft line, but this stuff is impossible to apply without getting it on your cheeks and any excess sticks like glue, so I have to use makeup remover to clean up the fallout and tidy up the lines. Then I have to reapply my foundation and concealer, etc. It seems like a great idea, but is just too hard to apply. What a waste of my money. Also, the Navy Kohl has very little blue in it. It looks more like deep charcoal grey.
