good bendable straw, solid paper in umbrella
White straws with thin stripes that are red, green, blue. Umbrella colors are red, green, blue, orange, pink, yellow. Bending neck to straw begins 2" from the top of the straw. Umbrella is directly below the bend, beginning at 2 3/4". Straw itself is 9 1/2 inches long and 3/16 in diameter. There is a small rubber band closing the umbrella. Roll the rubber band down, then push the umbrella up the straw to open. 9 thin, flat cardboard pieces support the umbrella. The umbrella has purple flowers with a green stem / leaf pattern. Umbrella can go back to closed once it has been opened.

great product, hard to open tho.
Little hard to open, have to remove tiny little rubber-bands to get the umbrellas to open, but they worked great for our party.

I had unrealistic expectations
The straw is very good for what it purports to be: a fun, party-happy straw. I was hoping for a more robust (wider opening) straw. Truth be known, the only reason I bought this one was because of the height (10+ inches); I didn't really want the umbrella. There is no other straw available at Walmart or Amazon that is this long, so it was my only choice. It's a great straw. Buy it if you want a nice decoration to add to a fun atmosphere that also works well.

not quite long enough....
the drink side of the straw was a bit short for my glasses. they did not reach the bottom of the glass when they were opened up. took them back.
