Overall it is a very good tape measure. The rule has a matte finish that is easy to read. The end of the tape has a very good ledge on it that is easy to hook on things and it also has two prongs on the top, just in case you need to hook something the other way.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first saw this tape I almost could not wait to get my hands on it. I am glad I did as it feels great in my hand and has so many useful features. The notch in the bottom works good because one can press his fingers against the tape for an effective brake. I don't find many tape measures to fit my had comfortably but this control series does, not only because of the shape and size, but also because of the black non slip coating around the outside. This is the first tape measure I have seen with such large easy to read numbers. The yellow, black and red colors on the matte coated blade are pleasing to the eye. I was able to extend the blade 13 feet without it bending. The belt clip is quite strong but for me was difficult to use. It could be longer with more of a curl out to go over the belt. Although I don't use a tether there is a hole for one and it is a nice feature. A very handy feature is the end hooks on the top and bottom of the blade end. I often lose or misplace my tape measures but I hope to keep track of this one. The store display card is tough plastic and I can hang is on the wall behind my work bench. Another super feature is the lifetime warranty. All in all this is a tuff, useful and attractive tape measure.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found the tape measure to be helpful and useful at work. The rubber coating is a great grip feature and the “quick brake” access comes in handy as well. The belt clip is sturdy and the tension holds it in place at all times. I didn't use the tether hole but considered it as an extra that could come in handy. The large print numbers are very easy to read even for an older set of eyes like mine. The oversized end hook is another great feature. I have no complaints about this tape measure. The quality is way above average. The tape measure is now a permanent addition for my tool bag.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good rubber coating around the tape measure,12 foot standout large numbers. It has a easy locking switch and i like the finger tip control never had that on a tape measure before. All-around its a nice tool
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this tape measure for about a month and am overall happy with the experience. The tape measure seems to be very accurate, though I do not have a way to verify that other than by comparing it to other tape measures that I own. The housing is very durable, It took a couple of 6 ft drops and I did not have any issues with it afterwards. It has a traditional metal clip that is very strong. No issues clipping to my pants or belt and having it fall off. The tape is a matte yellow and is very visible. It has additional marks at every 16" for marking studs. I wish it was marked on the bottom as well (this is why I took a star off). The advertised 12' stand out was accurate and very handy. I was working in a basement overhead and I fought another tape that did not have nearly the standout and I was wishing it worked as well as this one for the task. The hook design worked well in my experience. It easily grabbed on both the bottom and the top. A magnet on the front would be a nice addition. As far as ergonomics go, the tape fit well in my hand and I was able to stop the blade easily with the integrated finger stop brake. This tape is a great value with great features!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tape measure fits well in the hand, has a nice heft to it without being too heavy, and has a nice "grip". PROS: -Has a fore finger guard to save your finger from the inevitable finger pinch. -Has a spot underneath the finger guard so that you can use it as a brake, of sorts, to safely slow down the tape rewind. -Has an ingenious tip, that allows you to catch the end 3 ways; regular, on it's side, or upside-down. -Has a place to run a lanyard/strap through the unit so that it will not interfere with operation. -Has a firm, metal belt clip -The numbers are bold and large. Easy to read. -Has a "hold" feature, just before the lock position -Multiple rivets to secure the tip. It should not come off before the measure reaches the end of its usefulness. CONS: -When you use the underneath finger brake, or inadvertently push on the tape measure from underneath, it automatically releases the lock. -When in the hold position, not locked, if you need to adjust the length in any way, it totally unlocks. -The thumb latch has indentations on top of, and below where your thumb sits. These are helpful. However, the actual area your thumb sits is a bit slick and smooth. Overall, I enjoyed using the Cresent Lufkin 25' tape measure. I found it easy to use, comfortable, well thought out and designed, and well made. I would absolutely recommend this unit if you are looking for a replacement, or even a supplemental tape measure
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just got this the other day and I am impressed. It is very durable. I love the 360* endhook. The finger tip control feature is pretty neat as well. The blade has a nice clear coat on it. Leaving one star off of the review for two reasons. One of those is a personal preference and that is I like having the measurements on both sides of the tape and the other is that it states that it has a 12 foot standout but I was only able to get it out to 11 feet. Both not a big deal and I will continue to use this one as my go to.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A great tape measure. I loved the fact that you could extend it out a long ways before the tape wanted to start to bend over if it was in the air. The 360-degree hook has come in handy when not having a partner to hold the other end on long measurements. The finger control seems to work well without concerns for injury. My only concern was the extra weight of the tape measure when compaired to other tapes I have. However the beefier tape out weighs this concern. Overall a vey good tape measure.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lufkin Command Control tape measure exceeded my expectations. While not a feature-laden tape, it does the job it was designed for, and does it well. Protected by a soft rubber guard on all extremities, I believe the tape would hold up to a a good bit of abuse on the job site. I found the finger brake at the bottom of the tape a welcome addition, enabling me to adjust the extended tape with one hand rather than requiring freeing up both hands. The metal tape is clear and easy to read. I'd definitely recommend this as a toolbox win!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A nice tape measure that fits well it the hand and seems to be durable. The finger brake feature is nice for slowing the blade down or stopping it at a certain point without using the locking brake. The large numbers are nice for easy reading. The hook is a nice size not to big and can be hooked from both sides of the blade. I do not like the extreme curve of the blade after the six foot mark which I can only guess is for the twelve foot standout. I don't like that you have to twist the tape at such an extreme angle to make measurement marks.
