It took about 20 minutes to install on my 2016 Tundra Crew Max. The convertible top-like material looks great. We went for a 200-mile drive at speed up to 75 MPH. There was no noticeable stretching or other problems. There are a couple of clips on top of the cover used for securing it when folded. The plastic clips can flop around and mar the finish of the vehicle. We solved the problem by adding small squares of adhesive-backed, black Velcro to the top of the cover and the bottom of the plastic clamps. I really like this product and would recommend it to anyone wanting a classy looking and easy to install and easy to remove tonneau cover.
Recieved today and installed in minutes. Inspection of the cover and attached hardware went well. Weather stripping is secure / durable. Cover material is thick canvas with quality stitching. Metal frame feels strong enough to withstand snowfall and plastic used to fasten cover to bed feels like it can withstand freezing winter temps as well. Installation and fitment was a breeze. Peaking into the bed I saw no light passing through any point of the seal perimeter. Lund installation instructions and customer service fact sheet included in box. Overall from unbox to finishing installation I'm impressed with this brand & model.
The Lund Trifold arrived on time and in great condition. I could see upon opening that it was a quality product. Installation took all of 5 mins, and it was good to go. Has been on the truck (2014 Silverado)for 2 months and no issues. Would buy again...a quality product. Also like the easy clean up, always looks good.
Was going to go with a roll up but I'm glad I didn't! This is easy to partially open or remove and replace if necessary. Moved a bunch of yards of mulch, folded up and removed cover. With a roll up, I would have had mulch all over the Velcro and the rails. This tri fold is neat, clean and sharp looking. SIMPLE install, maybe 20 minutes.
I placed my order one day, it shipped the next, and the following day it was in my hands. Unfortunately a few days after I had it on my truck a small piece fell from one of the hinges; it had been cracked, possibly during delivery. No problem! RealTruck contacted Lund, and I had new hinges a short time later, with offers from both companies to help with the installation if they were a problem. The communications were the best I have ever experienced; they were polite, considerate, and thorough. I would gladly recommend RealTruck to anyone! Oh! And I really like my Lund Genesis top as well! Easy on/ easy off and it looks great. Every detail was thought out, and it was packaged with everything I'd need for my specific truck. You can feel confident when you place the order; you will be pleased.
Ordered this item and the first one had an issue with one of the corners not covering properly. They were great and issued a return and reshipped a new one right out. The second one we received was perfect. This is the third truck we have put one of these covers on. It's so lightweight and easy to put on and take off if needed. Won't ever own any other cover.
I first thought this tonneu cover was going to be too cheaply designed but turns out that it protects whatever you store in the bed of your truck and keeps it dry. It looks clean. The only issue I seem to have is that while you drive you get this flapping sound like you're dragging a plastic bag underneath you. Very convenient for my construction job though to not have to open a big door to access my stuff quickly.
I bought a Lund cover 8 years ago for my 2012 RAM. I absolutely loved it. Two things stuck out that made me buy it. 1. All four anchor points were levered for easy opening, and removal. 2. the weather stripping was a thick & wide foam weather strip all the way around. A good tight seal, and the cover sat flush on the bed. The front of the cover, also had curvature in the frame that matched the curvature of the bed up next to the cab, making all the lines blend well. I recently got a 2017 RAM, and didn't think twice about getting a Lund cover for it. I liked the old one so much, I spent the extra money for the better looking cover. I was expecting to get the same cover. Not so. It's not all bad. It's still a good cover & I'm happy enough with it. But, it's not the awesome cover my old one was. PROS: I very much like the cover fabric. It has a tight weave "codura" look & feel to it. It's been in a soaking rain. The water beads on the fabric. The fabric never felt like it was soaked & saturated with water. Time will tell though. I don't know if it's inherent of the fabric, or it's been given a Scotch guard treatment. The tailgate mounts are an improvement. The old ones were a "levered" quick release mount. These are a "spring loaded" quick release mount. Pull down on the handle to mount or release. The spring is plenty strong and cinches the cover down snug. When you need to fold the cover, the mounts fit snug inside the frame rail. The alumininum frame appears to be better built. A lot less plastic pieces at all of the frame rail connection points. The old cover had Plastic pieces at all 4 anchor points, making the plastic take most of the mounting force. This new one, all four anchor points are aluminum framing. obviously more durable. CONS: The mounting levers. Only the tailgate levers are "quick release". The two at the front of the bed, have to be thumb screw snugged into place. On the old cover, all four mounts were "quick release". There are times i need to haul stuff in my bed, that requirtes me to take the cover off the bed. Those four "quick release" mounts on the old one, made it extremely easy to take the cover off & put on. Weather stripping. This new cover has a thin rubber tube stripping down the sides of the cover. Front & back, is a wider & thicker rubber flap. After installing, it appears the weather stripping will do its job. But, it just seems to be a cheaper alternative & doesn't give the cover a "tight fit" appearance. The cover doesn't sit on the bed as level/flush. It bows up at the front & back a bit. I'm guessing due to the thicker rubber flaps. The front frame is straight. Not curved to conform with the curvature of the bed. It still functions as it should. It just doesn't conform with the truck lines, like the old one did. The old one "looked" like it belonged on this specific truck. the new one "looks" generic for any truck. There are two extra thumb screw clamps, attached to straps mounted to the cross rails towards the front. I have no clue what they're for, or why I need them. The install instructions show how to mount them, but there's no explanation why they're needed. The old cover never had them, and I never needed them. Conclusion: For the most part, I'm happy with the product. I'm disapointed that it doesnt "fit like a glove" like the old one. I'm disappointed it doesn't have the same on/off ease as the old one. I'm disappointed it doesn't "appear" to fit as snugly as the old one. But...with that said...I'm still happy with the purchace. It's a good quality cover. There's a very good chance, I'm just being too nit-picky. I like the look of my truck + the utility of it. I want the best of both worlds. This cover is well made. a quality product & does it's job.
This is a fantastic cover. A bit pricey, but living in Arizona, I needed something that would stand up to the sun. The one small detail that is problematic with my Tundra -- the strap/buckle attached at the front of the cover that is used to secure the cover when it is open -- when they lay flat, they're fine. Sometimes, however, they flip over and rattle against the cab. This is annoying, and it makes a mark on the finish. The two inch strap could be shortened or eliminated (attach buckle directly to cover in some way perhaps). Otherwise, love this product.
Maybe I'm being a bit picky, but not super impressed with this cover. For the price, I thought is would have had a better outer cover and stitching. It did, however have a $50 rebate which offset the expense. In the end, I'd say this cover should be less than $200 for what you are getting. I do love the tri-fold design but that is not exclusive to Lund. If I could have seen and touched it before hand I may have gone in another direction.
