Luster Leaf Rapitest Soil pH Meter

Very useful for testing soil pH. Love the cord so you can easily see results while measuring. The directions are thorough, but easy to follow. Great garden tool!

I'm looking forward to implementing this meter in my garden this year. This is the first time trying to regulate the acidity levels for my tomato and pepper plants. If nothing else, the soil acidity guide inside the cover is worth cost of the meter.

I have used this only a few times, but it seems to be working OK. I can't verify its accuracy because I don't have anything to check it against; but results have been consistent with what I would expect. For rapid on-site pH testing for the home gardener, this meter seems to be a good buy for the money. One weak spot: The instructions caution you not to press too hard if you encounter an obstruction while inserting the probe, but it's hard to know how hard is "too hard." I pressed too hard and the brown plastic "handle" (for lack of a better name) detached from the probe and slid down the probe stem. Fortunately the electrical connection did not break. I put a few drops of super glue in the right places, and now everything seems to be working fine again. If you buy one of these, you might want to put some glue at the junction of the silver probe and the brown handle so that maybe you won't have the problem that I had. Hold the probe with the handle down and put 3 or 4 drops of low-viscosity super glue where the probe meets the handle and let it run into the crack between the probe and the handle.

Product did not work. Don't waste your money. Go find a better product.

It worked for maybe a month and now does not work at all. Very poor quality. Not worth the money.
