[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first heard of the Lutron Caseta Smart switch, I loved the concept and knew it would be a perfect fit for my older home. The flow isn't great and there are a few pass throughs that have light switches at one entry but not the other, forcing you to walk through the dark when trying to turn off lights when heading to the bedrooms. With this product, I can replace the existing switch and mount a remote control that looks like another light switch in a remote location without pulling wire or hiring a costly electrician. Such a simple solution to a frustrating problem. I gave this product 4 starts because it only came with one face plate where I felt that two were needed to provide one for each light switch and I felt the the instructions could have been broken down a bit more simply for amateurs and people with little to no electrical experience

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This light switch took about an hour to install, and can be done by almost anyone who has access to Google. As a novice, I had no idea what the front of the box meant when it says neutral required. I found that out once I unscrewed and disconnected the old switch to realize that where I wanted to use the switch does not have a neutral connection. Bummer since I was hoping to have the switch to automate my front porch light. I tried looking through the company website if there was a workaround, but it's not recommended to install without a neutral connection. I ended up installing in a different location, and it functions as intended, and looks just like my other switches in color. The remote is a nice touch and the included cradle should be installed so you don't lose the remote. Make sure to pay attention to what is required before pulling everything out to install, and read through the included instructions. If the stars align for you and you are able to install, you will be happy with your new smart switch.

This way I can just use the remote to turn it off without having to get out of bed in the middle of the night. It truly is convenient. The only issue we came across was the dual light switches at the ends of our hallway. Once installed, whichever switch you use to turn the light on is the same switch you have to use to turn it back off which is really annoying. My fiance thinks there is a way to fix it so we are still waiting till he gets time to figure it out, which I'm sure he will find a way! Just wish the instructions were more clear for this situation. I will update once we figure it out to hopefully save someone else some time!

30 day return policy is not enough time when waiting for contractors to schedule a job to be done. 90 days is standard in the industry. Will not consider in the future.
