The trouble with most knives is that they are not sharp enough. This meat cleaver is awesome. It cut thru ribs without a problem and cut the bones easily. The knife washes well (I haven't tried the dishwasher yet). I like how the knife is balanced with a heavy hanle. The knife weighs almost 1 pound. Not for people with poor hand strength.

This is a really sturdy and sharp knife that has really helped improve my kitchen prep time. The cleaver is made of a solid piece of stainless steel which allows for better control. The handle grip feels firm which I can appreciate when chopping up not only veggies, but breaking down bones, cutting corn on the cob into smaller pieces etc. The image below has some water stains on it (probably a function of some hard water in the house and not of the steel / quality of the knife / cleaver itself. The fact that the knife is also dishwater safe is an added plus, though I typically wash it by hand just to maintain the knife's integrity. We really do use the knife for all purposes...whether it's chopping, cutting, cleaving, it's multi-functional and very handy. I haven't had a chance to sharpen the knife yet, but we may not need to do so if it sustains itself over the next few months / years. Definitely a great and handy tool for any chef!

The tang goes through the handle so no worries about the blade snapping off at a critical juncture, the weight is balanced and it is just a good looking knife. I have recommended this to my friends and family and will purchase more knives from Lux!

I've had a couple different brands of these and over the years and this one is well done. Sharp, balanced, and hefty enough without being an anvil. I like the weight especially for tenderizing/pounding, yet still slices onions thin. The handle is not the slippery finish type, grasping is easy for this 70 year old.

Honestly didn't expect much for the price but this knife is no joke. Heavy in a good way, came sharp, and hasn't let me down yet. I've used it on chicken, pork shoulder, butternut squash — handles all of it without me having to hack away like an idiot. Feels sturdy in the hand, not cheap or wobbly. Glad I grabbed it.

I liked the size of the meat cleaver. I disliked the stains that were on the blade. The cleaver appeared to have been handled by someone who had dirty hands. I took pictures of the unsanitary meat cleaver. I was shocked and disgusted at its appearance as soon as I removed it from its packaging.

They selling no handle how people can used it without handle it so hor. I need to return asap.
