I wasn't sure how sugar cane syrup was supposed to taste, but I used it in place of corn syrup for a pecan pie. It wasn't received well, so I tasted it. It had a funny after taste to it...not very sweet like my simple syrup; but again, I'm not an expert on sugar cane syrup.

Expensively delicious!
It has wonderful taste. I wanted so badly to make Alton Browns bourbon pecan pie exactly according to the recipe that I jumped to get it regardless of its price and not checking to see what a small amount came for the high price. I will use and enjoy it and allow myself to not feel guilty for splurging, but I will search for a recipe for golden syrup before I purchase again.
