These pencil microphones are excellent!I don't have any pencil microphones, so I can't compare them to others, but I do have a number of condenser and dynamic mics from Rode and Shure.I purchased these pencils so I could create YouTube videos. My Shure SM7B has excellent sound quality, but because it only functions when it is close to my mouth, it has to be on screen, which obstructs the view and restricts my head movement. The Rode's narrative is comparable.I decided to try this LyxPro pair instead, aiming them at my head while keeping them just off-screen.It sounds fantastic! It is true that it lacks the velvety warmth of the Shure and that it picks up more background noise than the Shure, but despite these drawbacks, it still sounds pretty darn good, and the stereo element gives it a nice personality of its own.And I appreciate that it has several capsules for use in various circumstances; I'm currently utilizing the hyper cardioid.Overall, I'm satisfied with the outcomes of this application.I'd still use the Shure for studio work and song recording, but I'll be utilizing this pencil set for all of my future YouTube videos because aesthetics are so important there.
Does one get what they paid for?FALSE (just this once).I purchased these to test them.I had intended to use them with drums for live streaming and recording.I had low expectations. What, $100 for two microphones? But I reasoned that I could keep them on hand in case one of my nice mics breaks or for any future sound emergencies.NOPE!One super cardioid placed on the bottom snare head will make a big noise.even CRYSTAL clear and frequency responsiveness. With great results, I have now utilized them as overheads and to close mic every drum (apart from the kick, which I always use my Sennheiser e 902 for). These are DEFINITELY worth purchasing. No doubt, I'll purchase more. These could be used for a lot of other things, in my opinion.I haven't yet put that hypothesis to the test, but examples include guitar amps, choir recordings, room mics, etc. When I do, I'll update.
These mics sound fantastic! It is made of durable aluminum.Installing the accessories is simple.Make sure Phantom Power is installed on your mixer board.
These have yet to be used on stage, but they passed the test in the recording studio.I purchased these due to pricing because I don't frequently need this kind of instrument mic, and so far I haven't been dissatisfied.
In regards to these mics, I was unsure.I didn't think it would work with these mics because my choir was only about 7. They proved me wrong.I was able to hear the chorus when I utilized both of them.
These microphones outperformed expectations when used for a church youth group.
The cardioid capsules are excellent and I use them to record concerts. When I recorded my cello, I utilized the omnidirectional capsules, and they are unequalled in every way.Use Omnis if you have a quiet area and an instrument with a really rich sound because you'll see a night and day difference in how much fuller the sound is with those.I'm not a sound engineer; I'm simply a musician using microphones, so I'm not sure what you'd use the super-cardioids for.The majority of the time, everything is OK, but I do absolutely experience the static popping that some people have reported and some have not.Because the price tag is so lovely, I'm assuming/hoping that this set is only damaged.I'm hoping the replacements will work OK, but if there are any problems with the new set, I'll have to save money and go elsewhere.
The only problem I've discovered is that one of the two microphones has a grounding problem, but I believe I can fix it or get help fixing it.The sound is excellent, and the one that works sounds fantastic. I used a phantom power battery back on it.I adore how simple it is to use a boom mic setup with a wireless transmitter, phantom power, and these mics.Wishing both were ready to use, but nevertheless, it's not a bad deal.
Condenser mics that are good and aren't overly harsh.Well-made and in a cute small case. One mic costs the same as two!
I bought two sets of these; one set for my church to use as general-purpose microphones, and I was so pleased with the quality that I also bought a pair for myself.First and foremost, these mics sound fantastic! They perform equally well to my SE7s and a $500 set of replaceable capsule speakers that a parishioner allowed the church to borrow earlier this year. They are quite sensitive to plosives, like the majority of small-diaphragm microphones, but they are fantastic for recording instruments or capturing choruses. They work well in a variety of situations since they include removable capsules for various pickup patterns. We currently use one with a cardioid capsule facing the distant choir and the other with an omni capsule in the middle of the space because my church only offers online services with a skeleton crew choir.Unusual setup, but it sounds fantastic on the livestream—truly superior to live in the room. This kit is helpful in a variety of situations because all the capsule types function admirably and have the same audio quality.I had to deduct a star because of the build quality. The first set I bought is excellent, however one mic's black paint came off when I touched it; that's just a cosmetic issue. One of the microphones in the second set I bought had substantial electrical noise, so I had to send it back and get a replacement. The replacement set arrived today, and although they sound fantastic again, some paint quickly came off.Again, this is merely an aesthetic concern, which is unimportant given their price and sound quality. The case is decent; it's fantastic to have a place where everything can be stored, carried, and done so in a somewhat safe manner. The mics are held a little bit loosely by the provided mic clips. In a situation if the mics were being held up high and there was a chance that they would be knocked, I wouldn't trust them because I know they would easily slip out and fall. They offer superb sound overall and make wonderful portable utility microphones.Although the build quality isn't the best, I can't really complain at this price point, especially given how wonderful they sound and how practical they are.
