[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Simple to install and configure. I added a 2TB drive so now I don't need a bunch of USB drives hanging off the mac mini. Looks great on my desk. The only thing I'd like is a better way to secure the mini to the base.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works great so far. Very simple setup. Worked as soon as I connected it to my new Mac mini. I put a ***** in it (exFAT formatted). The Mac saw it without any problems.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the product. I placed a 4GB SSD Card in it and can back anything up as needed and quickly. Great product.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was a simple decision to make for my new Mac Mini to expand the memory I needed! The accessibility to the Mini's on/off switch - a spot-on needed design feature... SD reader and additional USB inputs excellent additions to the Mini's usability.Thank you to Satechi's thoughtful design!!
I rushed out and bought a different device from another company, similar to the one from Satechi which wasn't't available at the time. I had some serious issues with it going to sleep at inopportune times. As soon as the Satechi device came available I ordered. I have used several other Satechi devices and they have just worked like they should. No issues is a GREAT THING! My device has been running for several weeks now and believe me, absolutely perfectly!!
The hub is a nice addition to my Mac Mini. I like all the new ports. The cutout that makes it easier to hit the Mini switch is nice. (Why Apple didn't put the switch in a more accessible spot, I will never know.) I still haven't put an SSD inside the hub, they're expensive.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This device cleaned up my work space and works great. I just don't understand why they don't sell SSD back-up devices to go with it. I know I can buy them elsewhere, but it would be easier to buy with the device to ensure the proper fit.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pleased with the add ports and extra 2 tb of storage, Speed is ok, 1,000mgb/sec and no were near the published sped of up to 10,000,.s. Works as partitioned 500gbs and *****. one drive is TM and it works fine. So far no issues with blocked wifi or heat. Satisfied after 1 week of use.
Great addition to Mac mini. SSD recognized after i ran DISKUTIL to recognize memory. Fit on the base is not to form compared to previous Mac mini bases I used. It slides off if you touch or move try to add a cable, so plan on holding down the Mac Mini itself you use the front USB-C's Can't complain.
It is too slow when using the ssd drive
