I had these growing up, my children had them growing up, and now my granddaughter has one! These are wonderful, easy to use little weaving looms that with a little imagination can go a long way! We tend to start out making simple pot holders with them, and my mom has one that I made, one that my daughter made and one that my son made that she has used for all these many years! With a little imagination and some sewing, they can become larger projects such as rugs or even blankets! The possibilities are endless and the weaving loom provides for hours and hours of fun! I highly recommend these!

Kids Craft Made by Me Weaving Loom by Horizon Group USA is so much more than a toy. It motivates young minds to think, to create and to design. I was watching my little granddaughter open the box and pull out the loom and the many colored bands used to make a potholder. This product held her attention and made her think of the different colors she will use and how the colors would match or what kind of patterns she would make. She took a mass of cloth bands and started to make sense of them. She studied them and decided which colors would go best together. This girl is only four, but the intelligence she used and the way she caught onto the workings of the loom and the way to use the tools provided to pull the cloth through to make a weave was fascinating. It took her a while to get the right way to finish her potholder, but she did it so well with very little help from mom. In fact, she told her mom that she wants to do this by herself so don’t help her. So my little smart four-year-old was on her own and she did a marvelous job putting her potholder together. The potholder is useful to use in a kitchen. It is thick enough to pick up a hot pot with and keep the heat away from your hands. What impressed me the most about this weaving loom is the way it teaches a young mind to think, to plan and to make something which took her own planning, work and finally conclude with the finalization of her own project. The end use is not something which is thrown in some corner with all the other toys, never to be used again. This pot holder will be used again and again and she wants to make other pot holders to add to her kitchen collection. I would definitely recommend this weaving loom to any friend who wants to see a young mind develop and have fun at the same time. In fact, I need some pot holders and I may just join my little granddaughter the next time she makes her special pot holder.

I had one of these when I was little...and spent hours making little projects! It keeps children entertained for hours and let's their imagination run wild!! Totally worth the price!!

I love teaching my grand childre to do things I used to do and would sell them at the Penny Socials in our town for extra money for our family of 12 children No Phone no tv this was how we entertained our selves along with crochet items and embroidery

This is a really great project to teach children about colors, texture and patterns, rhythm and balance of color. The little pegs on the loom have a rounded tip so that once you stretch the fabric loops over them they can't pop off. I like how the hook's handle has a graduated thickness so that as you are pulling the weave through you can angle it to separate the loops and facilitate easy weaving. There are enough loops to create 4 different projects and different colors, you can tie them off or you can pull them off and do it again and again to see what all you can come up with!! This would be a good present or a good thing to buy for your kids to make presents for people that need some brightness in their lives!

The Weaving Loom Easy Steps is a fun, useful, colorful craft that will be used for many years and will hold dear memories as well as hot items. I believe this is the same brand that I made when I was a young child and I am in my sixties. My grandmother helped me finish it. I still use them and so does my mother. The box states 5+ age group; however, it does require concentration. Easy Steps Weaving Loom Made by Me comes with everything you need to make four potholders! A plastic loom, hook, 165 colorful loops and instructions. I did not understand how to finish it at the end so, I just made it another way, truly made by me. While working on this project several people of all ages, male and female wanted to join in like people do on a puzzle. The weaving loom is a wonderful timeless craft that people of all ages will enjoy. In addition, if you make a mistake, you can change it, create special colors or patterns and create a sense of accomplishment.

About 65 years ago, my grandmother sat me down and taught me how to make pot holders using a metal frame and some loops made out of material. We had so much fun doing this and making “my special gifts” for all those on my list. Well, now a days, there is a new loom in town. It’s called the Kids Craft Made by Me Weaving Loom and, with the exception that the loom is now plastic instead of metal, this is exactly what my grandmother used to teach me. I will add that the plastic frame is much easier to handle and work with than the metal frame. The plastic frame being lighter makes a difference too. This kit comes with the frame, enough loops in assorted colors (165) for 4 projects or pot holders, a plastic hook for pulling the loops through and easy to follow instructions. You can follow the instructions or be creative and design your own. This kit is for ages 5 and up. Your children will be thrilled with this weaving loom, because they will feel like they have accomplished something special on their own. It is also a great way to spend some quality time with your children or grandchildren. I can attest to that!!!!!

I had one of these as a child many years ago. It was made of metal and I used to make pot holders for everyone I could. I loved making them. This new version is made of plastic with a plastic hook. The "loops" as they call them are some type of synthetic material and no idea if they would be heatproof to even use as a pot holder? The end result is small and would not be big enough for an adult hand. These might be better used as a coaster. The box says it contains enough to do four of these which is not allot. Wonder where more loops can be purchased and at what cost? Also a shame no one has invented more projects to make with this beside the potholder, this is a single project loom. The steps are easy and directions clear. A child of 5 which this is aged for may have trouble with the casting off process at first but simple enough to learn. A great quiet time project for any child 5+.

Originally, I planned to give the weaving loom one star. The loops are inconsistent in size, color and stretch. I could not find the composition of the material on the box. The hook was too short and did not provide enough grip space for small hands to securely hold it, snag the loops, and pull them through to the other side, especially when you get to the end of the project. We had difficulty finishing the edges, as the loops jumped off the prongs as we approached the end. The loom frame is approx. 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" yet our finished "products" shriveled to only 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" when they were complete. We were disappointed to read in the instructions, "pot holder created for decoration only." Then, I began to find all kinds of uses for these little pads. They are perfect to protect my fingers while I retrieve a hot plate or bowl from the microwave. They work nicely as coffee cup coasters and as mini pot holders, plus they look cute hanging from the kitchen cabinet knobs. I also used one between two small skillets to keep them from scratching each other. Now that we know what to expect, we will buy loops to make more of these useful little things. I just hope the loops are of better quality.
