I've been using this brand for 4 decades, it's really good and easy to fix. Have this with Pork Schnitzel and Pork Gravy, it's great. It doesn't feel like a wad of dough in your stomach.
This is as close to homemade Hungarian spaetzle. When I don't have the time to make home made I use this product. I've also used them in soups and stews. My son likes them cooked and then saute with a little butter and onions.
I love my order. Havent had them I was in Germany and loved them then. Now it's easier to make and with the Maggie I am in HEAVEN!!! Thank you
Goes with any meat. Thought a little soft, but I may have cooked too long. Good product.
I thought I'd give these a try. They worked better than I imagined. They keep a little texture while still being tender, al dente. But you can cook them a little longer to get them more tender. Try cooking in whichever broth goes with your recipe. Great Pantry item. I always keep some on hand. Great for stews, soups, etc...
This was delicious. Just like Grandma used to make. She used to buy a little tubular pkg that probably costs about $3. This bag was a little bigger but was $10! Way too expensive.
I'm fortunate to have a local restaurant that makes a great spaetzle if I want the "real thing" but for me this product was delicious. I combined it with sliced, store bought, cooked, peppered tri tip along with gravy made from the drippings and it reminded me of stroganoff from my younger days. My big knock in this review is I paid BY FAR less than the current $19.99. I was ready to buy more but not at that price.
We were pretty excited when we found this product. But we found the texture to be off and they were smaller than any spaetzle we have ever had. Sadly I will not be buying these again.
I found the dumplings remained chewy even when cooking for a longer period of time. These were not tender like homemade.
I would rather make my own - this brand is flavorless and even though I cooked it for 1/2 hour - it was tough.
