My 8-year-old daughter absolutely loves this CD player and AM/FM radio. Purple is her favorite color, so she was excited as soon as she opened it. It was very easy to set up, and after showing her the buttons once, she was able to use it on her own. She carries it from room to room listening to her favorite CDs and radio stations. The sound quality is great, and it has worked perfectly so far. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the product description mentions a cassette player, but the unit we received only has a CD player and AM/FM radio. That wasn't a dealbreaker for us, but the listing should be updated to avoid confusion. Overall, it's a fun, easy-to-use music player that my daughter enjoys every day.

Unfortunately, it sounds like the music is coming through a tin can, just terrible speakers. I expected much more from Magnavox. I am very disappointed in this "boombox".

Not very impressed. Sound quality is mediocre but typical for such small speakers. Power/selector switch is cleverly concealed to make it way more work than needed to find it.

I really liked this option for a CD player because it was small and easily portable with batteries and simple technology, but the sound is awful. I used to think Magnavox was a quality brand, but I guess they gave up. I had to return this because the sound was just too unpleasant to listen to.
