This is a really nice multi-cooker. I was so happy to get it. Albeit it is a bit smaller than I anticipated but will work well for our family of three. I cant wait to make a variety of items in it. I have been looking for a multi cooker for a long time and this one seems to be all the rage right now. I like the clay pot as it is supposed to keep foods hot and what's an even better plus is I don't have to worry about chemicals leaching into my food. Its a win win!
This crockpot was packaged extremely well to avoid damage during shipping. The factory box had thick styrofoam to protect the contents. That box was placed into a 2nd box for shipping. Unit heats up quickly. I like that it can be used as a traditional slow cooker as we as steam, braise, rice cooker, proof bread, make pasta, cook oatmeal, and keep food warm. The digital display modes are easily changed by rotating the dial. The pot is removable from the base making it easy to clean in the sink. I like the small hole in the lid which allows steam to escape. This unit has so many function, it will be a go to appliance!
I've been using this multi-cooker for soups, rice, and slow-cooked meals and it's honestly become one of my favorite kitchen appliances. The olive green color looks so nice on the counter and the clay pot cooks food really evenly without burning. I also like that the pot is removable and easy to clean
This is so neat! I did not know about a clay pot cooker. I love the size because it's perfect for a small meal for the two of us. The green is a pretty sage. It will be easy for cleanup, as well.
Right out of the box, this sage green Magnifique Claypot Multi-Cooker is a stunner. Sadly, it came with a few pre-installed scuffs right out of the packaging. Free battle scars? Thanks, I guess! At this price point, a pristine presentation is expected. The 1st Cooking Trial Testing the oatmeal feature proved just how fast this machine is- the cycle finished in less than 10 minutes before automatically switching to Keep Warm mode. Unfortunately, the oatmeal loved the bottom center of the clay pot so much that it didn't want to leave. There was no scorching, but some certainly stuck to the bottom. My mistake? Blessing for busy schedules! The Keep Warm feature is appreciated for the nights not everyone is home or ready to eat at the same time. It seems to maintain a great temperature, keeping food "freshly finished" for some time. My husband is usually the one who works later so being able to feed the children a piping hot meal and not having his plate set aside somewhere getting cold is quite a treat. Design Flaws and Safety Concerns- One major downside is the lid handle. It is not made of a heat-resistant material, meaning a potholder is mandatory to avoid a painful burn. For an appliance in this price range, I feel like some extra safety features should be expected. Furthermore, prime real estate on the counter is hard to come by when serving a large family. A lid that could "stand" on its own or stay connected to the base of the appliance would be a gamechanger. Having to seek out a separate spot to set the scorching hot lid while dishes and such are sprawled out across the counters as I am serving food is a safety hazard-especially with 6 children and 60 curious fingers to keep from touching it, even accidently. Instruction Manual? More like a mystery novel. The "Owner's Guide" is 90% safety warnings and 10% vague directions. There are no starter recipes, and the cooking chart doesn't provide a baseline timeframe for some of the features. When you're new at cooking with a coveted clay pot, you most likely will need a map or guide so you don't turn your dinner into an inedible experiment. With groceries priced the way they are these days, no one can really afford to just "play around" and hope for the best. Even a thorough internet search yields very limited recipe ideas for this specific machine. Don't expect to fit a whole chicken in here-the 4.5-quart pot appears a bit too small for that business. Final thoughts... It is gorgeous appliance that can easily eliminate other kitchen gadgets and simplify meal prep. However, buyers should prepare for some trial and error, invest in a pair of heavy-duty oven mitts, and be ready to "wing it" until the learning curve is conquered. Despite the flaws, it is worth getting creative to see what this multi-cooker can really do.
