This film is very well told. The man who created the Muscle Shoals sound came from nothing. He is the man who wrote the song "Patches". Even though his personal life was tragic, Rick Hall, always made the musicians, record until it was perfect. He had a knack for making hit records. The "Swampers", started what is known as the Muscle Shoals sound. If you like great music and knowing the history of where the fame started. This is a must see. Stars such as; Aretha Franklin, Rolling Stones, Paul Simon, Allman brothers and many more. Harv

I am originally from the Muscle Shoals, Alabama area (with my first home being in the adjacent city of Sheffield). I had been eagerly awaiting the release of this documentary and ordered it I think on the first day that it was available from Walmart. I was not disappointed. Although I knew, of course, of Fame Studio and Muscle Shoals Sound Studio and passed by them countless times in my life I found out from the documentary that there was so much that I didn't know about them and also about Rick Hall, who started Fame Studio and was really the one who made Muscle Shoals a place for top quality recording work, starting many years ago. The quality of production of this video is excellent. And, I was especially pleased, and somewhat surprised, to see interviews of some of the greatest music stars of all time, all of which had done work in Muscle Shoals--people like Mick Jagger, Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, Percy Sledge . . . . I could go on and on. Will you be as captivated by this documentary as I was if you have no connection to the Shoals area? Probably not. But, at its most basic level this documentary is the story of people trying to produce the very best music possible and then making the very best recordings of it possible. And if you love music of any kind you are bound to enjoy this documentary because of that.

The actual facts of what really happened in Muscle Shoals. Inside that Studio there were NO Color Barriers ! It was about great Music being created by some of the greatest Musicians in the World under some very trying times in our Country. i had to have this one for my collection !

Very interesting if you are a fan of 60's and 70's music. I never would have dreamed that the little town of Muscle Shoals had such an impact on the music industry. Loved it!!!

Anyone who likes music, modern music history, or is a musician will enjoy this. I never knew so much came from that place! I highly recommend watching this!

If you wonder why music today isn't as good as it was 20, 30, 50 years ago watch this movie. If you are a serious musician wanting to make it in the music business, watch this movie!!
