Very nice ORGANIC rice. I use this rice for a side dish with my orange or honey chicken , a substitute for a hot cereal on cold mornings and my favorite rice pudding. The grains are very regular and cook up well. I have a rice cooker and this rice cooks up very well with chicken broth to serve with chicken.
This is one of the best white rices I've bought, and it shows in the ingredient list — just one ingredient. The taste is subtle and clean, and you can actually taste each grain. It cooks up beautifully: not mushy, not gummy, and no starchy film on top. Just fluffy, separate grains every time. The quality is excellent and the price is more than reasonable for what you get. If you enjoy healthier grains too, try the wheat version — the flavor is bold, nutty, and packed with natural grain taste. Overall, this rice is satisfying, clean, and absolutely worth it.
I always use Mahatma Rice. This is the first time I purchased the Organic type. It has great flavor %26 not as much starch in it. I used it for making risotto and plain as a side dish. I will buy it again.
I appreciated that it is organic and hopefully less toxic than regular rice. I always cook rice in my instant pot. I just cooked 5 cups tonight with equal parts water and a bit of avocado or olive oil and it turned out very nice. Will buy again.
I like that it is organic, but once you've had Basmati rice it is hard to go back to basic white rice. It also tends to get mushy once cooked, whereas Basmati stays more firm. Mahatma makes a great Basmati Rice. I think they also make an organic version but I have not seen it recently. Either way, this is a decent long grain white rice, just not one that impressed me since I much prefer Basmati. The organic aspect of this rice, however, makes it a quite viable option for basic white rice.
I bought this for making a neck heating pad. I usually dont eat rice, this was for a sewing project then a friend said just by the least expensive rice for a heating pad. So I returned this and got the least expensive white rice. It worked great in my heating pad I made.
I liked the fact that it was not enriched. The first time I bought it was for my MIL (Mother-in-Love), who was on a special diet, and it was great. The second time, much of the rice was broken, making it mushy. Not sure if I would buy it again. Maybe I got the bag that was produced last, and it got the scraps. LOL
I bought it because it says America s Favorite Rice! But I have had rice that I liked better. The taste is good, easy to cook. But it was too soft for my liking ! I even undercooked a batch, and still was not happy.! Nothing bad about it, it just wasn't my favorite. Therefore I will not buy this brand again.
Something is wrong with this rice! It smells horrible like sulfur and it flared up my asthma. Some of the bags were so swollen they were about to explode which implies the rice was fermenting from being stored improperly.
This rice tasted and smells so weird.. i don't even know how to descibe it. Had to toss my entire dinner and make another batch of rice to make sure it was the rice that was off and not my other ingredients. I will NEVER purchase this again.
