Strong little unit

VickiG August 15, 2017

We live off grid (solar power) and needed something with low voltage. We are tired of using batteries, but at least this has that option. It operates, using very little electricity. It produces a decent breeze for it's size. It can be felt directly up to ten feet away and does a decent job circulating air in a smaller area. My husband keeps it on his desk to keep him cool during the heat waves. He pretty much let's it run continuously (about 2 months now) and it has not burned out yet. So it seems to be sturdy.

Very good

Anonymous April 18, 2017

This is an excellent fan. I call it emergency fan, we had power outrage in my apartment throughout the night. We ran to Walmart to get this. It worked perfectly well. Had a sweet night sleep with this lovely fan on. The batteries weren't included so I bought that separately.

Outstanding RV Fan

EricU June 3, 2017

I like this fan so much I bought a second for myself and one for my sister's travel trailer. This is an adequate fan for small spaces and it doesn't make much noise. With 2 fans, I can place one on me and another in a window to get cross breeze within my motorhome. That was enough for me, but then came the bonuses. This fan runs on 12VDC. There are 12VDC fans available on the RV accessories market, but not at less than $15. They start at $70. But, wait there's more. I've long admired a 12VDC fan built into a roof vent. It is a great way to push hot air out the top of the RV while bringing in cooler air from windows and door. A price of $200 made it just a dream. This fan can perform the same function. By happenstance for design, this fan wedges perfectly into the 14"X14" standard RV roof vent casing. See attached photo. For those situations where all you have is 12V battery power, these fans are efficient. The AC to DC transformer's data plate states it's maximum output is 0.7 Amps. One fan could run constantly for 5 days and it would draw a total of 42 amps from the battery. That's about 1/4 of the energy storage for RV battery banks. The power inlet for this fan is a standard 12VDC 5.5x2mm plug. I purchased a cigarette lighter to 5.5x2mm adapter cable so I can use the fan when not connected to shore power. I also purchased a cigarette lighter extension cable for optimal fan placement. Both put me back less than $10 total. The ambitious and handy could use a pigtail and tap power from a ceiling light fixture. Note how close this power is to the fan on the photo. If you need a fan for small spaces that's relatively quite, this is a good option. If you are looking for a fan run off of a 12VDC power source, this is a great option. Optimizing this fan for your particular need may take some time and effort, as well as, a few more dollars, but compared to anything else I've seen, it's a steal for the price. My motorhome has power outlets facing downward. The AC/DC transformers have the AC plugs coming right out of the case. Still, the transformers are light enough that they do not fall out. Also the transformers are small enough to permit the use of the other plug on an outlet. As for longevity, I can't say. I've been using my fans for 2 months now and they run the same as when I first plugged them in.

33 hours and counting on cheap batteries!

Jim March 30, 2018

I bought this fan because I'm planning a longer camping trip and am in need of a fan that can keep running all night for several nights in a row. I didn't really have high hopes for this fan, so I've kept the packaging and receipt and am testing it at home before the trip. So far, the little fan has really impressed. It has two settings, and I find that on low it generates enough of a breeze to be felt comfortably about 10 feet away. The high setting is even better. Both produce enough white noise to be soothing if that's something you like in a fan, but still relatively quiet compared to your average oscillating fan. It seems well constructed, and is extremely stable with the weight of 8 d cell batteries at the bottom. The ability to swivel the fan up or down in its base is also a nice feature. I've got it sitting in my living room with a stopwatch next to it. I've been keeping track of its run time in hopes of establishing a baseline battery life which will determine how many extra batteries I bring on my trip. So far, on its first set of Rayovac d cells (wanted run time on less expensive batteries), it's clocked 33.5 hours on its low setting, and it's probably good for a few more hours, considering I've not really seen any slow down. I'll update with a final battery life later, after my test run is over. If you sleep 8 hours a night, this thing is good for at least 4 nights, so far. I'm extremely surprised. This thing is shaping up to be a must have in my camping gear from now on! Thank you for your

Great fan

tlb3900 April 6, 2017

This works great!!! I was concerned whether batteries would power the fan as well as the ac adapter, because other fans that can run on both ac and batteries have reviews that complain about some of those fans blowing harder on electricity than with batteries. So I put in the batteries and plugged in the fan and started it using electricity, then unplugged the adapter (which of course made it stop) and turned it back on using only the batteries, and it ran just the same as with electricity!!! Very impressed! And for $14.88, you can'take beat it! Takes up much less floor space than my old fan, too!

Fire hazard!!

nobeans November 19, 2017

I bought 5 fans for hurricane MAria victims, The fans worked well for about two weeks. Then the complaints came one after the other, all complaints were related to the power switch. The green light came on but no power. The most troubling was that one fan would not turn off unless the battery was taken out (it overheated during the night). Could not return bc they were gifts.

Worked at first... then wouldn't turn off

Cali July 17, 2017

I used this with batteries, and it worked fine until, after the old batteries wore out (a few weeks), I put in new ones, and then it wouldn't turn off. The switch looked like it was operating properly (it would light up on high, then on low, and then go out for off, but in all those states it would just stay on high. Mine didn't get hot, as the other reviewer said theirs did. But I didn't trust it, so I removed the batteries and am going to return this.

I Would Give It 0 Stars If I Could.

mkayradcliff September 6, 2017

Worked great until it didn't, all 3 of them! I'm a cashier and need a battery operated fan at my register, at the beginning of the summer I bought this fan. It worked great at first, put out a lot of air and had great battery life. But after 2 1/2 weeks it died. No big deal, even the best of products have an occasional lemon so I just exchanged it for a new one. Again it worked great until it quit 2 weeks later to the day. I looked for something different that go-around but didn't find anything else I thought would do so I exchanged it again for the same one. That time it managed to last about 3 1/2 weeks before dying again. Even if they hadn't been sold out by then I was still done, I returned it for a refund. This fan is more sleeker and attractive that the bulkier design of the 02 Cool version but I recommend no-one buy it, they just don't last. I have an 02 Cool I bought over 4 years ago and it still works very well. The only reason I don't use it much anymore and tried to replace it is because it's so bulky to have to carry around everyday.
