I bought mine in store and got them home and every one of them worked right away. I have had them now for 2-3 months and they've been in heavy rain and cloudy weather. After the rain they may not work well because of the water, but I really don't mind that. On cloudy days, these lights seem to work pretty well still. I am currently buying more to align my fence with. I have a huge backyard and they give just enough light for me to see. One day I'll upgrade to a bigger lumen, but for now they work well.
I love this set of solar lights. I think this is my 5th set. I have them all over my yard!
3/4 of them worked and since you cant return 6 of 24 to get new ones, we just kept the spikes. We changed batteries,etc..Nothing worked. Disappointing
I bought these lights to line my fence in my backyard. They are a beautiful warm light. I really like them. However, only 11 of the 12 lights work. One of the lights doesn't work. It didn't come with the orange tab to protect the battery from engaging prior to purchase so I took the screws out of the underside of the cap where the light is to see if I could fix it and I found the problem: no battery. This light didn't work because it did not come with a battery. The box clearly states "batteries included". This was the only one, thankfully, but that really is frustrating. I paid for 12. I expect 12 to work! It's not like I can take only one of the lights back to Walmart to exchange it. I'd have to take the whole box back which is probably what I should do.
I thought these would be fine to light my flower pots in my garden. I purchased 6 boxes which would give me 72 lights - 60 for my pots and 12 to use to light the edge of my flower garden (really only needed 10 but for the price, I kind of expected a couple of them would not work). Of the 72, 12 did not work and although I could not see visible damage (broken or unconnected wires, broken bulbs, misplaced batteries, etc...), I could not make them work. Essentially I paid for 6 boxes and only got the benefit of 5 boxes. For that reason, I would suggest buying an extra box if necessary to complete your design for their use just in case you end up with several that do not charge or light up. Kind of disappointed that my design is not how I wished and I could not find them at my Walmart store when I went back to purchase another box to complete my design.
I bought 2 boxes (24 total). I placed the first set out on Tuesday night and they looked really nice. I placed the second set out Wednesday and at first they looked really nice but by the evening 4 of the second 12 were out, 2 of the first 12 were out. By 11pm when I am headed to work 2 more were out and almost ALL of them were really dull looking.
Man, how sad. Trying to be low impact AND save money... These only worked about 3-4 hrs after TWO full days of sun charge. Very sad. Tossed receipt, no refund, no joy. Sigh
They dont last long snd the light becomes very dim
The first set from few years ago work better than the new ones. They have degraded in quality :-/
even at 10 dollars, or now $7, don't waste your money. The solar lights seemed good when i first bought them and seemed bright, but now that it's been less than a week, they do not light up very bright anymore, and they also don't last more than a few hours into the night time. They are basically pointless. I wouldn't buy them again. Go somewhere else and buy higher quality. Unless you literally need them for only a few hours (total) don't bother buying them. You definitely get what you pay for.
