Mainstays 13 Gallon Touchless Motion Sensor Kitchen Trash Can, Stainless Steel, Soft-Close Lid, Black

This is the second time I have ordered this trash can and it is still a very good trash can because it keeps me from having to touch the lid, is easy to clean and does not take up too much space in my kitchen. The only downside is that it opens each time I come near, but that does not diminish the pros of this trash can.

Where have you been all my life!?? Was hesitant after reading the reviews but have had no trouble at all. Dont know why I waited so long. True, kinda pricy, but wonderful since I always have my hands full. Easy for my 91 year old arthritic mom too!! Love this garbage can!

The Mainstays Motion Sensor Trash Can is perfect! I read some reviews where there were dents, so I was skeptical about getting it. After thinking it over, I decided to order it. I received it on time, no dents, and it works just fine. I would definitely recommend it.

I LOVE THIS TRASH CAN!!!!!!! I cannot tell you all how great of an investment this is! My house never smells like trash, so I m using less trash bags per week. I dont touch the lid or hit the wall with the lid. Its quiet. Its MAGICAL ! Everyone that comes over wants one! And its QUIET!

I love this little garbage can. Now when I go to someone else’s house, I stupidly wave my hand over it as if it’s going to magically open. It’s so easy to open and it’s hands free which is great when you’re working in the kitchen. I would 100% recommend this. I actually bought 2-one for me and one for my boyfriend.

For some time, I have wanted to upgrade my kitchen trashcan. I wanted it bigger and I wanted it automated. Unfortunately, the ones I was coming across were priced much higher than I wanted to pay! When I saw the price on this one, my first thought was "What's wrong with it?" After reading the various reviews, it seemed that the biggest issue was the condition they were being delivered in. I had prepared myself in case mine arrived dented, but was very pleased when it was delivered in perfect condition! The color is a vibrant red, and pairs well with the other red accents in my kitchen. The top-open sensor is very sensitive and walking by the can caused it to open. So I moved it to another location that is equally accessible but not as heavily trafficked. I've been using it for about a week now and have no complaints.

Great motion sensor trash can for half the price of others! I'd been looking for an affordable motion sensor kitchen trash can, especially in white, to go with my white kitchen, and this fits the bill 1000%! It is not completely quiet-it makes a mewing kitten sound opening and closing, but to me, it's unobtrusive. It's the perfect size, and I like having the removable ring instead of having to haul out the entire inner liner-that's a great design feature. I'm so happy with this item!

Very nice trash can. Just beware, Walmart uses FedEx to ship. I ordered two at the same time, one showed up a couple weeks later. Was very happy with the product. The second one didn't arrive for another four or five days. When it finally did arrive, the box was dented and upside down on my porch even though it clearly stated on that box "this side up" and "fragile". Filed a return, returned item and then waited for over a week checking constantly to see the status of my return and if they'd shipped the replacement. Nothing ever happened... It was like it just got lost in a glitch. So I canceled the replacement and ordered a new one . The new one shipped right away got here in about a week but the new box was more damaged upon arrival than the original one. Opened it up and the replacement can sure enough was more damaged then the original purchased can. Now I have to file a second return because of FedEx. Basically it's been about two months and I only have one of the two items I ordered. Not because of walmart or Mainstays, just simply FedEx dropping the ball like always. Even though they are both multi-billion dollar corporations it's kind of lame that Walmart has to keep paying for FedEx's sloppy mistakes

I love it! Fits 13 gallon bag nicely, inner ring holds the bag down, easy to set up and operate. It arrived damaged - large dent in one side - I believe this to be Fed Ex's fault as I witness them deliver my packages in a careless manner (throwing them on my porch - just take another step and set it down gently, please!) If you have a rubber mallet you can fix this easily, no need to return or exchange. The box has molded cardboard pieces at top and bottom to hold the can in place but the sides are not supported so this is how it is getting damaged. Function - easy to use but also easy to open when you don't need it, so put it in a less trafficked area or keep some batteries on hand. Also, don't forget to get batteries as it does nto come with any. There is an open close button if you need to keep it open for an extended period otherwise it closes pretty quickly after it opens, i'd guess about 10 seconds. Battery cover seems normal, someone else mentioned it seemed delicate or fragile but it's just plastic and operates as a normal cover would. i like that there are small openings at the bottom of the can so your bag actually fills it vs. the suction affect that other cans have when trying to remove a full bag or how it fills up with air when you first put it in.

Motion sensor garbage can lids are just dumb. They all stop working eventually, it's a motor that gets caked in garbage. Save yourself the 3 months of aggravation when it opens when you walk by it before the motor burns out because it will. This is a "garbage" garbage can.
