A famous photographer friend made a 20 x30 print at Costco for me, so I needed to scramble for a frame. I found this online at Wally World and took a chance, especially since I did it via Site to Store, which I hate, since it always takes forever. When I received the frame, it came in a separate shipping box that was 3" thick which protected it well, since the outer shipping box had had some abuse. It was noticibly light when I picked it up, because I was expecting glass. Well, no glass, but 1.5mm plexi which was protected by the full shrink wrap the frame came in. There are small tabs on the back you bend out and my 20x30 print fit perfectly. Normally I clean the 'glass', but it was pristine so I did not bother. The frame really made my print pop. The backing is plain corrugated cardboard, with pressed in fittings for both vert and horz hanging. All in all, I would say mission accomplished. Someone viewing the print on my wall would have no idea the frame was $16.97 and the facing was plastic. But it would not tolerate any abuse since it is so light duty, but for hanging on the wall, it is great. I would recommend this frame on a budget.
I do jigsaw puzzles, not 'oh I'll put them together a couple times' puzzles, 1000+ piece puzzles that once together you don't want them apart again. I glue them onto posterboard. After MANY failed attempts to find the right frame I finally found it in this frame. It's thick enough to accomodate the puzzle, the backing and system to secure (ie how the puzzle is held into the frame) are strong enough that the puzzle can't curl. As the glue dries the puzzle curls. The front is thick plastic which is ideal because it won't break itself or my wallet. The frame dimensions are small enough that it doesn't detract from the work inside, all too often I see frames or frames with matting that are so wide that the eye is contantly drawn to the frame and not the masterpiece inside. If mainstays ever stops making this frame it would be EXTREMELY hard for me to find a comparable replacement.
It was exactly what I expected and worked just fine for framing a 1000 piece puzzle. Looks nice also. Went together as directions suggested and seems very sturdy. I expect it will last for years. Mechanism for hanging was intact and seems sturdy enough to hold the puzzle firmly when placed on the wall. Looks attractive also.
I have a Monet print that was in a frame with glass. It came crashing down into a thousand pieces. I replaced it with this frame with plastic. Beautiful and fits perfectly.
Paid much more for a thin plastic cover that scratched easily, with 4 grip-fit sides that would not stay put. This is a full solid frame with depth, and a decent thickness poster cover film. I'm very happy with my purchase. Cheaper and sturdier than previous failure. I'm confident this will hold up to fluctuation in temps and humidity within the room, and protect the poster for a long time. No more bottom falling out from shrinking paper content during winter months. Also, no special care when cleaning to avoid scratches.
I wanted to redecorate my teenage son's room and wanted to do it inexpensively. We bought 4 posters online, and I wanted to frame them to make it look a little more polished. I chose these frames because they came as one piece that you inserted the poster in. In the past (many years ago) I used the frames that you slide on each side and I remembered that inevitably the sides started to slide down over time. The frames I just purchased look really good and will seem to hold up as long as they are not bumped to hard. I did find on 2 of the frames ,they did not sit as flush on the wall as the other two. We used a piece of the 3M hanging adhesive strips behind it and it looks great. I decided to use at the bottom of all of them because the posters are hanging above 2 twin beds and I did not want to chance them falling. (Although I don't think these frames would fall more than any other types of frames) I think the clarity is really good. Not as good as glass, but I knew that before I bought it. I read a lot of reviews about the frames being broken upon arrival. I was very worried about this, but knew that I could return to the store and reorder. I was very lucky because all of them were intact. But, it was luck, because they had a small piece of bubble wrap covering about half of the frame. I would DEFINITELY buy again, but I do think a more appropriate price would be about $13.
I really like this poster frame. First of all, it's the perfect size for a regular piece of poster board, 22" x 28". Even though it's plastic, it is stronger than the other poster frames that I've bought in the past. If I could improve on it, I would have an option to purchase this size in a wood frame.
This frame can make a poster look like a photographic print. The "glass" is plastic, but is crystal clear. The frame is very light weight. It has cardboard backing. Your poster is in between the "glass" and the cardboard, making it nice and flat.
It's a good frame for the price. It didn't quite fit my 20x27 puzzle, but we made it work by adding some card stock paper behind the puzzle to make up the gap in length.
I ordered this frame online without looking at the reviews first. That was a huge mistake. I, like many others who have posted reviews on this product, received this item broken. I was shocked at the lack of care that was put into packaging this product; it was simply placed in a box. The plexi glass was cracked on the corner, the frame had huge scratches, and when I picked up the frame it completely fell apart. This frame was also extremely flimsy. I returned it to the nearest Walmart immediately.
