Great for the price. Its a great size, the fire is good enough for about two to three persons. It has an elegant finish and works fine for now. One thing I did notice is that you have to read the instructions thoroughly to know how to turn on the fireplace initially. Otherwise you are going to have a hard time getting it on. Other than that, cant beat the price and product.
Assembly instructions were not as clear as I would have liked, but we got it together. It is solid and sturdy. No wobbling or flimsy feel to it. We are pleased with the looks of the fire pit. The instructions say NOT to cover the burner with the lava rocks, but we got a much nicer flame pattern when we covered it lightly and placed the rocks strategically. Be aware that this thing is not going to keep you warm on a COLD day/night. Most of the heat goes up and away. If you are sitting right beside or in front of it you can feel some heat, especially when turned up to high. We have only used it on mild SC evenings. My bet it would provide very little additional comfort in a cold location. If you are primarily interested in the ambiance it creates I think you will be happy with a little heat thrown in as a bonus.
I spent an hour putting the fir pit together. The directions were simple to follow and everything was labeled. Once it was together, I added the lava rocks which were included with the purchase. Although the instructions mentioned a 20lb propane tank, I couldn't locate one. After three stores, I settled for a 15lb tank. It worked fine with the fire pit. Easy to use and easy to put together !
This is such a nice fire table and it's a great price! Other reviews mentioned issues with the ignitor. We only had issues when the lava rocks were blocking it. Once I moved them away from it we haven't had any issues at all. 10/10 would recommend. This is a fraction of the price of others and I love the way it looks.
I really like this Mainstays Gas Burning Fire Pit. The Fire Pit is all metal and a dark in color. It does come with a black color cover. The cover is very nice and fits perfect. Included also is a heavy duty bag of rocks that are placed in the top. What I really like about this fire pit, it has a metal lid cover, as well. When not in used the lid fits in over the rocks. If you wish, you can actually use this item as a table when not lit of course. Presently I have it sitting on my deck but I am going to place it in the yard on concrete pavers. I assembled this product by myself and that was a little cumbersome. My issue was inserting the screws and holding the metal sides in line at the same time. Fear not, if you plan to assemble this yourself. I have some pointers for you. Take a patio cushion and place at the rise so you can take the weight off holding the sides up. In addition, you can kneel on the patio cushion making it comfortable. If you have a magnetic Phillips screw driver, it will be easier but I used a standard Phillips. Make sure you look at the images in the assembly instructions booklet. Put it together exactly as it displays in the images. One side panel has two holes and that is to slide through the control knobs. Caddy corner from that panel, is where you will place the door panel. Each leg has an opening that goes inward, not outward. Gas tank is not included. It's heavy duty and looks very nice. It will be very great this Fall and Winter especially to sit outside comfortably near this Mainstays Gas Burning Fire Pit.
This tabletop gas fire pit is exactly what I was looking for. It's very well constructed of a quality gauge sheet metal with a great durable finish. Absolutely a great little functional table that also doubles as a gas fire pit to warm up cool evenings.
This fire pit is beautifully made and truly easy to assemble. I am female, over 60 and I did not require any assistance. The directions are well written. It took me about 35 minutes with only a Phillips screwdriver. I love the electronic ignition (takes one AAA battery that is included). It has leveling knobs on the bottom to accommodate the slope of my patio. The lava rocks are included as well as a hard lid and a soft cover to cover the entire fire pit. The propane tank is hidden underneath. This is a 10 of 10 stars for me!!
I don't usually write reviews but since I have been doing a lot of online shopping lately I've had to base some of my purchase decisions off of reviews so I thought I should contribute. Here goes my thoughts... I ordered it online yesterday and picked up in store today. My husband spent about an hour assembling it and we were roasting smore's by dark. LOVE IT! Perfect square fireplace. Classic clean lines. Assembly was straight forward. Love the look AND the function. Bonus that the top has a lid so I can use it as a table when we are not using the fire feature. Very happy with this purchase and I look forward to using it all season long. After this first experience I recommend this fire pit with five stars.
It took about 30 minutes to assemble with 2 people. Everything went together smoothly. It came with Lava Rock, but we bought a 10lb bag of blue cobalt glass and we love the look. Lighting can be a little of a pain (yes we read the instructions). Once it is lit, sometimes after a few minutes it will make a light popping noise like something closed and the flame starts to go out. If you reach down quick enough, you can re-ignite it. Sometime it stay lit without any problems. I did a little clean up of the dust around the ignitor and it seems to be working fine now other than it is a little difficult to get lit now. Right now it is not worth the hassle of returning it to replace it.
I got the fire pit and it would never light. I seen several reviews saying that it didn't work or that it wouldn't stay lit and I didn't believe it. Well they were right.
