Mainstays 30oz Outdoor Citronella Candle, Galvanized Gray

We are overwhelmed with phorid flies. This repels them as well as other bugs and mosquitos in the immediate area. I love the little pails. Iv'e found so many uses for the empties after thorough cleaning. Dry and Artificial floral arrangements, pot covers for little live plants, catchall's, gift baskets and making scented candles for holidays.

I was surprised, for the price it was much larger than anticipated. I also ordered the coils with terracotta pots, and 1 pot was broken and all the coils were broken. Should have just purchased 3-4 of these.

big candle for 5 bucks 3 wicks doesnt burn out fast smells good it has a strong handle but you can remove it easy if you are wanting to it keeps the bugs away and the side doesnt get hot and the lid is good to fan it out if you arent ablw to blow it out. i have asthma so it works good

This is very effective in my backyard at all times of day. I notice a considerable decrease in bug bites when I'm using these candles. The smell is fine to me and not too strong. I also love the look of the bucket. It should last a long time and I plan on repurposing it after the candle is used up.

Great candles for fighting of mosquitoes. It actually works we can sit on the front porch without getting mosquito hitting the whole time. Great bye five stars

I expected it to work more effectively. You have to sit within arm's reach to get any sort of repellent relief. I'll have to buy 3-4 more candles or seek other repellent products. I'm allergic to deet so any type of spray is useless. You can smell it but I guess I expected more.

The smell is ok a little overpowering but tolerable. The downside is that it didn't do much for mosquitoes I still saw a few flying around like nothing which is disappointing.

This candle, while mostly constructed well has one big flaw. The wicks on this candle refuse to stay lit if there is even a very slight breeze. So unless you have these in a very protected spot they won't work. If you can keep them lit they do a good job of repelling insects. They need to use a thicker higher quality wick.

It's a nice bucket, but that's all that it's got going for it. Didn't repel mosquitoes at all. I was sitting right next to it and still got horribly bit up. Pretty sure it attracts more than repels since so many ended up dying in the wax. I ordered it for pickup so didn't get to smell it before buying. Wouldn't have bought it in store because it definitely does not smell like citronella. I'd rather be overpowered by the citronella smell and not be bit, than have it smell “nice” and get a bunch of bites.
