Mainstays 30oz Outdoor Citronella Candle, Sage Green

We are overwhelmed with phorid flies. This repels them as well as other bugs and mosquitos in the immediate area. I love the little pails. Iv'e found so many uses for the empties after thorough cleaning. Dry and Artificial floral arrangements, pot covers for little live plants, catchall's, gift baskets and making scented candles for holidays.

This candle has been such a good addition to our outdoor space that I ended up buying another one. The large 24-ounce metal bucket provides a long burn time, and the triple-wick design creates a strong, even flame that gives off a nice amount of light and ambiance for evenings outside. One note is that it may burn unevenly if the wind blows out one of the wicks but it corrects the unevenness when you light it the next time. I primarily use it on the patio, and it helps make outdoor time more enjoyable. The citronella scent is noticeable without being overwhelming, and the metal bucket design feels sturdy and durable for outdoor use. The candle lasts a long time, making it a good value for the price. I also like the rustic bucket style, which looks nice on a patio table or outdoor seating area. Overall, I was impressed enough with the first one that I purchased a second. It's a great outdoor candle that provides a pleasant atmosphere, long burn time, and excellent value for the money.

I was surprised, for the price it was much larger than anticipated. I also ordered the coils with terracotta pots, and 1 pot was broken and all the coils were broken. Should have just purchased 3-4 of these.

This is very effective in my backyard at all times of day. I notice a considerable decrease in bug bites when I'm using these candles. The smell is fine to me and not too strong. I also love the look of the bucket. It should last a long time and I plan on repurposing it after the candle is used up.

big candle for 5 bucks 3 wicks doesnt burn out fast smells good it has a strong handle but you can remove it easy if you are wanting to it keeps the bugs away and the side doesnt get hot and the lid is good to fan it out if you arent ablw to blow it out. i have asthma so it works good

I expected it to work more effectively. You have to sit within arm's reach to get any sort of repellent relief. I'll have to buy 3-4 more candles or seek other repellent products. I'm allergic to deet so any type of spray is useless. You can smell it but I guess I expected more.

Works fairly well at keeping the mosquitoes and gnats away, as long you're within 3 to 5 feet downwind. It really needs 3 more wicks, as you're left with 3 deep holes with plenty of wax still remaining between.

Less than 10 uses and the 3rd wick is now buried. I tried to gently pry it up ,but it just kept breaking. its been kept and lit on flat concrete. I've never had this problem with Coleman so I will just stick to them.

This candle, while mostly constructed well has one big flaw. The wicks on this candle refuse to stay lit if there is even a very slight breeze. So unless you have these in a very protected spot they won't work. If you can keep them lit they do a good job of repelling insects. They need to use a thicker higher quality wick.

I'm pleased with the size of the candle bucket itself, but I'm very disappointed in the lack of Citronella scent that it gives off and its ability to distract mosquitoes. Currently, I'm sitting outside about 2 feet from the candle drinking my morning coffee. So far 2 mosquitoes have already landed on me.
