Mainstays 100% Cotton 1 Yard Precut Fabric Blue Stripe

I purchased this fabric because I really liked the print and the colors and I made a blouse for myself. It is very vibrant and washed well with no fading. The qualities is actually outstanding and it's very easy to sew. It has a very nice way to it. Definitely not flimsy at all even after washing. I have now purchased many more fabrics from Walmart to make tops and novelty items.

This medium weight 100% cotton fabric is soft, and seems durable and strong. As cotton is a natural fiber, it took the dye well, and seems to have good color retention. The one sided pleasing black and white floral pattern seems color fast, with white on the other side. The color print is on grain with the fabric, and not skewed. Cotton is easy to cut and sew. I plan on making Covid masks from this 44 x 36 inch piece, as cotton is a suggested mask fabric. This fabric feels soft on the face, and I do not think it would chafe. This material does not pill when rubbed, and is not abrasive. The fabric may shrink to some degree when washed, and laundering before use is suggested. The packaging warns the fabric is not intended for use in children's sleepwear. I would recommend this fabric piece for small projects, and it is an excellent beginner sewer fabric. This product is made in China.

could not wait to get this since it really hard to get good material for making masks for the corona,the material is 100% cotton that is washable in your washer or hand and this is Precut fabric ,this material is enough for my familys plus the design is Beautiful and from Mainstays so whatever Craft you use this for it will be awesome!

I've been making fabric masks since March, and have worked with several brands of cotton fabrics. I've attached a photo of the mask that I made with this particular Mainstay fabric so you can see the final product. The second foto shows mask after hand washing, then machine dried about 9 minutes on medium heat. Note that material is wrinkle free! However, I generally hang masks (on a hook)to dry. If needed right away, then use the dryer. We each have three masks so we always have one available. What I like about this fabric: • Odor free • Washed before using (a must for all projects, particularly for mask making), and machine dried (medium heat). Came out smooth, virtually wrinkle free. A few other brands needed steam ironing, not this one! • Even before washing, fabric was “soft” and not stiff. Several other brands were, thus not suitable for masks. • No color bleed when washed, no discoloration of design. • Generous width (approximately 42 inches, not counting selvedges which are the sides of the fabric width). Allows for making many masks with a one yard cut. Can then use as front or back of mask (but not for both sides since you want user to be able to distinguish the front from the back of mask, thus avoiding possible contact with contaminants). • Design is attractive, not busy. • Fabric tracing pencil marked rather easily on this fabric. I have found some fabrics do not lend themselves favorably to this. • Cut ends do not unravel or fray. Cons: I have nothing negative to say about this fabric. Conclusion: I recommend your consideration of this fabric choice for mask making or other projects. NOTE: Fabric clearly has stamped along the selvedge (the width ends) the warning that it is not meant for making children's sleepwear (such as pull-on pj bottoms).

I wanted this fabric so I could make a new curtain for my bathroom window. This material does not pill. I also like the fact that it does not wrinkle easily. This is not a heavyweight fabric, it is perfect for curtains, and feels of good quality. The color looks really nice, not dull. I love it!

My students and I are creating a quilt for a colleague who is retiring this year and this fabric is one of my student's favorite designs!
