Mainstays 5 Shelf Westley Arch Bookcase, Black Finish

I’ve wanted nice bookshelves for years for my husband’s ever growing book collection.. These are exactly what I hoped for, extremely sturdy and furniture store quality, for pennies on the dollar! My husband and I are novice builders lol and we put the first one together in 20-30min and the 2nd one in half that! 2 tips: Double check each other on the placement and “flushness” of the materials before securing each step! The back boards/brackets are best to install together laying on it’s front! Hope this helps and you love these as much as I do!!

Love this bookshelf! I wouldn’t say the assemble was easy because you literally have to do each shelf by one then put both together. (Tall on top of short. Impossible to do this while it’s lying down! Love the modern, clean look! Order it!!!

There weren't many reviews to reference so I was a littke hesitant initially to purchase this shelf until seeing more reviews. And the price also made me hesitant whether it would be good. Went ahead and got it anyways and can say I'm pleasantly surprised and have no regrets at all! It is beautiful! Didn’t take too long to assemble together. Probably no more than an hour. I would say that placing the back board should have been a better way because it was a tad bit complicated to place the back board piece which took the longest. Overall, super nice shelf and can't beat the price!!

Okay hear me out, we put three of these together back to back and after the first one we figured out it was easier to assemble it essentially backwards from what the instructions said. We assembled the bottom part first and then the top and lifted it onto the bottom piece because putting it together on the ground was a nightmare. It looks very nice and feels solid.

Exactly what I was looking for at an affordable price! Love the thicker shelves as opposed to other mdf type options.

Pleasantly surprised with this book case! It was quite literally the easiest piece of furniture I’ve ever built. Took less than 1/2 hour. Feels sturdy and looks beautiful in my reading room. I’m excited to fill this baby up! BUY THIS!

This is such a great buy for the price. Looks and feels much more expensive. Will be adding more to my reading nook.

I bought two of these bookcases. I really like the color and they are sturdy enough. The back is flimsy. Assembling one with the directions made me assemble the second one in a much different, more efficient way as the directions weren’t the best way to build it in my opinion. I’m happy with my purchase! They’re not forever items but good for my apartment and my books.

I was hesitant to buy this because in the past mainstays hadn’t always been the best quality. However I stand corrected with this piece! It’s a great price and the quality is good and sturdy! The height is perfect especially since most bookshelves at this price point are much shorter. The last piece (the curved wood top) however was quite hard to put in place without damaging it.

Side B was missing holes for the shelves (factory mistake) contacted customer service and was told 3 business days someone would come to correct. No one ever showed up or called me to follow up. It’s too big to un assemble.
