Mainstays 5 Shelf Westley Arch Bookcase, Warm Walnut Finish

I’ve wanted nice bookshelves for years for my husband’s ever growing book collection.. These are exactly what I hoped for, extremely sturdy and furniture store quality, for pennies on the dollar! My husband and I are novice builders lol and we put the first one together in 20-30min and the 2nd one in half that! 2 tips: Double check each other on the placement and “flushness” of the materials before securing each step! The back boards/brackets are best to install together laying on it’s front! Hope this helps and you love these as much as I do!!

It is quite sturdy and wasn't horribly difficult to put together! Due to the weight I put the bottom part and top part completely together separately. Once both pieces were put together I stopped the bottom up and lowered the top piece onto it. No hammer or drill required just a Phillips head screwdriver and an Allen wrench.

Love this bookshelf! I wouldn’t say the assemble was easy because you literally have to do each shelf by one then put both together. (Tall on top of short. Impossible to do this while it’s lying down! Love the modern, clean look! Order it!!!

Okay hear me out, we put three of these together back to back and after the first one we figured out it was easier to assemble it essentially backwards from what the instructions said. We assembled the bottom part first and then the top and lifted it onto the bottom piece because putting it together on the ground was a nightmare. It looks very nice and feels solid.

There weren't many reviews to reference so I was a littke hesitant initially to purchase this shelf until seeing more reviews. And the price also made me hesitant whether it would be good. Went ahead and got it anyways and can say I'm pleasantly surprised and have no regrets at all! It is beautiful! Didn’t take too long to assemble together. Probably no more than an hour. I would say that placing the back board should have been a better way because it was a tad bit complicated to place the back board piece which took the longest. Overall, super nice shelf and can't beat the price!!

Exactly what I was looking for at an affordable price! Love the thicker shelves as opposed to other mdf type options.

I really like the look of the bookshelf. Assembly/directions could be a bit better, but if you've put together furniture before you can figure it out. I was disappointed that one of the two shelves I ordered was damaged in delivery. All of the items looked to be fine until I flipped the bookshelf over and noticed that the backing of the bookshelf was damaged. It is partially covered by the shelf, but I can't move that shelf without showing the damage. Walmart customer service was not helpful. They wanted me to return a fully assembled bookshelf and reorder a new one instead of offering any kind of discount or partial refund, which I thought was poor customer service.

Shame on you, Walmart. First, for sending me a piece of junk book case. Spent 5 hours trying to put it together. It was falling apart, wouldn’t hold itself up, never mind hold books. Second, for telling me you’d schedule a pick of the item so I could get my money back. Received pick up window of 2-6pm. Called Walmart at 5:40pm and was told to call the company doing the pick up. Did that, was told no pick up was scheduled. Called Walmart this morning to request my money back and was told I need to wait another 4 hours for another pick up they’d schedule. Requested supervisor. Ezraa refused refund and refused to get on the phone. Finally got to another supervisor, Ahmed, who was condescending and beyond rude. A company as large as Walmart should be able to issue a refund when the customer has already wasted 4 hours waiting for a pick up that didn’t happen and providing a subpar item. Target would NEVER treat customers so disrespectfully. I would like a call from Corporate on this matter. I filled out a form online requesting this.

I bought this bookcase because it looked so beautiful online. highly disappointed. the back of the shelf is so unstable and that made the rest of the bookshelf hard to finish. the worst part is that after finishing the assembly its still so wobbly and unstable. Definitely not worth the money

Side B was missing holes for the shelves (factory mistake) contacted customer service and was told 3 business days someone would come to correct. No one ever showed up or called me to follow up. It’s too big to un assemble.
