Mainstays 6-Tier over the Door Shoe Rack, White, 18 Pairs of Shoes

This shoe rack was very easy to assemble. It only took 5 minutes. It can be hung from a door or even mounted to a wall. If you want to mount it to a wall, the proper screws and anchors are included. I placed mine on the inside of a coat closet. It fit perfectly. It would definitely fit 18 pairs of woman's shoes. woman's shoes will fit 3 pairs per row. Bulky mens sneakers will fit 2 pairs per row. My rack fit 12 pairs of mens and women's shoes. It is very stable. It does not rattle when you open and close the door. This is a great quality rack that does the job. Very happy with this purchase.

I got this shoe rack because I have 2 young dogs who love to chew up my shoes if I leave them down on the floor. I hung this rack up on the bedroom door and put my shoes on it. It held all my shoes, including my flip flops, and I still have room for a few more. It was easy to set up and appears to be made of sturdy material. I love it and if this rack ever gets full, I will definitely be purchasing a second one. I highly recommend this to anyone who needs to keep their shoes off the floor or anyone who has a lot of shoes that needs to be organized. Oh, and it makes it so easy to have both shoes in one place.

I just received the Mainstays 18 Pair Over the Door Shoe Rack. It was very easy to put together. You will need a Phillips screwdriver to assemble the rack. You start by putting 3 pieces of the rack together for each side. You just slide them in and connect the 3 pieces with 2 small screws on the back. Once you have assembled both sides you attach the rack pieces to both sides. I started at the top and worked my way down. They are a little tough on your fingers to try and push them in. I should have worn gloves. But they just push into the predrilled holes. Once all the racks are on, you put the caps on the two bottom pieces. Then you slip the over the door clips on the two top pieces and put on the last two caps. Now it is ready to hang over the door and put your shoes on. The racks are a little close together. If you have small shoes you’ll be ok, but if you have large shoes it will be a little tight. You may have to leave a gap between to help with the spacing. It works but it a little wobbly. The rack is kind of twisted out on the bottom. I’m sure there are sturdier racks. But for me this one did the trick. It does go from the top of the door clear to the bottom!!! It gave me room for more shoes. And what girl doesn’t need more shoes?? Right!!

I like the Mainstays 18 Pair Over the Door Shoe Rack, it has been very handy to have. I live in a very small apartment and I was using the space under my dresser to store my shoes for this season. This was not ideal since my cats would play in my shoes and sharpen their nails on them sometimes, so now that I have the shoe rack I can put my shoes up out of harm's way, and sweeping is much easier now since I don't have to dig my shoes out inorder to sweep under my dresser. I have started to hang my belts and caps on the top 2 rows since I took the picture with my review, it works great for this also. This Mainstays 18 Pair Over the Door Shoe Rack was a bit difficult to assemble, and I want to warn you about putting the rubber end covers on the bars before adding the hangers, the poles won't fit through the "over the door" hangers with the rubber end covers on, I learned this the hard way and had to remove them to finish the assembly of the door shoe rack. During the assembly the door rack poles started twisting so the holes to put the "shoe rack" part in were not aligned, I had to twist the poles so they would be straight, this made the assembly more difficult than it should have been. I am very short and was having difficulty getting the hangers to stay up in order to hang the rack on the door. I hit the door casing with the "over the door" hanger and it bent very easy, I had to straighten it to hang it, this was another inconvenience. I would have given this item a 5-star review if it weren't for the things I listed.

It is a nice rack. But be prepared to put it together. Has lots of pieces. If you are putting 2 pair of shoes side by side it is a little tight if they are tennis shoes. Also works well for hanging caps. I do think the first rack could be a little lower. I can barley reach to put or take shoes off. And they stick above the door.

This rack saves a good amount of floor space. I received this as a promotional item, but I would most likely purchase this if I needed it. If putting over a door, you would probably want to put it on a 30" width door, as it would be a tight squeeze on a smaller door. One small negative note - while assembling the rack, some of the holes weren't quite aligned properly, so I had to force it, then tap with a hammer. (At least they won't fall out!) It still worked, just a small nuisance during assembly. The parts that hold the shoes are somewhat close together, so if you have bulkier shoes, you won't be able to fit 3 pair on that row.

This Over the Door Shoe Rack is sturdy and easy to put together. It would have worked better for me if a tried to use it as pictured on the box. On the box, the door is not next to any adjacent wall, so the door could still open all the way. In my closet the door opens 90 degrees and then touches the wall. With the shoe rack on the door, I was not able to open the door all the way, so it was not ideal for my situation. Used as picture, I'm sure this would work just fine.

The Mainstay 18 pair over the door shoe rack works great. We've been using a pocket vinyl shoe holder for a while now but I disliked the way it squeezed the shoes together. Another problem I had was if it was a pair of shoes that had not been worn in a long time they would get mildew on them. The Mainstay shoe rack allows you to separate your shoes. Since they're not enclosed air can circulate around the shoes to prevent mildew. It seems sturdy enough but we haven't loaded it with shoes yet because we intend to put it on the inside of the closet door when we get through going through the closet getting ready for the school year. I like it I think it will be exactly what we need.

The shoe rack is ok but I wouldn't recommend it. It is made for shoes that are not above the ankle. I can't put my work boots on it. The assembly is fairly easy and you can secure it to the door by using the screws included in the box. I would say that it is useful only if you wear flats or low shoes. My shoes rub against the door if I put them on one way and if I put them on the other way it seems to be ok. All in all it is a useful item but the quality can be a little better.

I had high hopes for this shoe storage item, however it did not work out well for me. I received this for my honest review. The problem is that the hooks that go over the top of the door are not wide enough to slide on easily. I had to bend them open a little which then distorted the design and made it impossible to be able to close the door enough to use the rack comfortably. It may be okay for others if your door’s width is narrow enough. My doors seem to be normal as any others, so they aren’t unusually wide. The materials seem ok, and assembly wasn’t too difficult, although I did need to use the back of the screwdriver to knock the individual racks into their corresponding holes. All in all, I can’t recommend it unless you don’t need to close your door.
