Mainstays 7.6 gal Plastic Touch Top Lid Kitchen Trash Can, Black

Sturdy and well made, minimalist appearance, easy to clean. Lid seals off odors. Touch button on the top is easily operated, lid opens quickly and completely, and it takes little effort to securely close. Lid stays open until you want it closed. This trashcan has nice design features that will keep your life a little more hassle free.

This is a white, lightweight plastic trashcan, just under 17" tall. The "touch top" lid is great, when it wants to work. It opens with just a touch, which is what it's supposed to do. Keeping the lid closed can be challenging at times. I can only keep the lid closed after fiddling with it. The smaller size is a bonus. I have it next to my dryer in the laundry room to use for used dryer sheets, lint, etc. A friend has a similar trashcan and she keeps her pet's food in it. This really can go anywhere.

This can has a warped bottom. It doesn't sit flat on the floor. It rocks side to side quite a bit. I tried sitting it out in the sun upside down until it got warm and then putting some weight on it but it didn't help. Other than the warped bottom, I guess it's ok.

The lid will not stay closed.

Listed said I'd receive 4 trash cans, but I only received one. It was damaged also. The spring came out of the lid and was a little bent so it wouldn't open properly. I was able to put it back in but since it's bent its a little wonky trying to close the lid. It's an okay trash can otherwise. I probably should have sent it back, but it probably would have been more trouble than it's worth.

I think the idea of this garbage can is perfect, but unfortunately it just doesn't work well. I have used this for several days and it will pop open regularly by itself. The can itself is a nice size and I like how the rim holds in the garbage bags, but I can't get it to stay closed. It will open with the lightest touch, and will close, but always eventually will always open on its own. I have tried to adjust it or close it more firmly, etc. etc. But to no avail. I am likely keeping this garbage can and just using it with the lid open, as it is the perfect size for what I wanted. But this just defeats the purpose of a garbage can with a lid. Until this product is improved, I would not suggest this as a lidded garbage can.

I wish that I could recommend this Mainstay 7.6 gal white top touch trash can. Unfortunately I received mine with a warped lid during shipment. It's fine open but very hard to close w/o slamming. If working, it would have bedd we n a nice small trash can.

The lids were assembled incorrectly and when fixed, never functioned properly. Had to use lidless which was pointless. Needed the lid. Replaced already.

Lid is useless, broke before first use. Returning

Unfortunately the main purpose for me would be having a trash can that has a top, but the top does not properly fit the trash can so it's useless unless you want to use it without the top. I would not buy this product although I do love this brand of products in general.
