These pots are fantastic!! Super sleek and easy to use. The dark color will keep the soil warmer and the bottom watering deters pests. 10/10 exactly what I needed for my project
The pot actually exceeded my expectations, not only for price, but style, material and convenience. Sturdier than I expected, esthetically pleasing (this is going in a church by the altar) and it had the added convenience of a channel to direct watering to the bottom self feeding feature.
I am an idiot and didn't check the size. I needed a small pot to repot a new plant. This is HUGE. Good thing I've been thinking about a small tree or bush for outside, now I'm committed since I have the pot.
I bought this self-watering planter specifically to repot my mint plant from Home Depot. My mint was growing well but requires a ton of water, and I needed a better solution. For that purpose, this planter is fantastic. The mint plant is thriving in it. The reservoir holds enough water that I only need to refill it once or twice a week, which is a huge improvement and exactly what I was looking for. My main frustration, however, is the lack of a water level indicator. There is no transparent window or gauge, so you have no idea how much water is left or when it's truly empty. You just have to fill it completely and wait. Because different plants consume water at different rates, you have to learn your specific plant's schedule and guess when it's time to refill. Summary: This is a great solution if you have a thirsty plant like mint. It definitely works and keeps the plant happy. Just be prepared to manage the refilling schedule yourself, as the planter offers no help in knowing the water level.
Oh this pot was well worth the price, 9.99 and it is so big and gives my plant such a nice place to live. Plenty of room for growth and will be able to put it outside in the summer for the hummingbirds and bring inside in the winter.
I've ordered several of the 6in and 9in. They both do not disappoint. The self watering part is very useful and convenient, the price is very reasonable. The plastic seems durable. I haven't had any issue with mine. I do wish it comes in more color other than khaki and black.
I have purchased several of these planters and have been impressed with the quality and price of them. I love that they have the handy self watering feature so I don’t have to worry about my plants when I am out of town. Will definitely purchase again.
Good quality which is a shock. Even more amazed at the decent price. I have purchased a couple of these and they are all good for my indoor plants. Don't know about outside in high heat, they are plastic and will likely break down but great for indoor plants.
I bought these pots because I thought that it would be nice to have a place to water the plant without moving the inner pot every time you water it; however, you *can't* remove the inner pot at all. I don't like this because there is no way to tell if the plant's roots have come out of the bottom of the pot, and there is no way to determine if the plant has root rot. You also don't know whether or not you've given the plant too much water. I would not recommend this pot for this reason. If they make it possible to remove the inner pot without breaking the outer one, and make the inner pot transparent, I would most definitely change my mind.
This product used to have the water tray fillable at the bottom. This product's designers chose to move the fill to the side for easy access. Ok, but there's one major problem now: the planter doesn't drain properly when too much water is poured in. The previous design, water would easily flow out, which I liked. So now, EVERY day that it rains heavily here, it's an extra *chore* for me to tilt the planter to drain out the excess. I don't have to do this with the previous design I have. I wish they still offered the previous design.
