The mainstays 9 pack kitchen flour sack towels have a variety of uses. I hung two over my oven handle and I was able to quickly wipe my hands in between cooking dinner which is my house can get pretty crazy on a work/school night. My 10 year old unloads the dishwasher and sometimes he has a problem getting the dishes all the way dry because some towels just don't absorb water. Or if they do get the dishes dry, they leave little towel threads and lint all over the clean dishes. We did not have that problem with the mainstays flour sack towels. Even after washing and drying them in the dryer, the towels were still lint free. They did wrinkle a bit, but I ironed them and then they were perfect again. My big test was baking. I made a pumpkin roll this past weekend and if you know how to make them, then you know you must use a lint free towel to roll the hot pumpkin roll in until it cools. I was able to roll and unroll using the mainstays flour sack towel, and my roll came out perfect with no cracks or lint left on it from the towel. I hope mainstays makes more of these value pack towels with different colors to match my kitchen.
These flour sack style towels are great for the kitchen. There are 3 different designs, 3 of each included. The designs are as follows; Checkered pattern which is black and white, arrows or Aztec looking design which is maroon, and solid white. The color on the arrows (or Aztec??) is probably my favorite. It's maroon with a white background. I have been using these in my kitchen to dry dishes. They absorb well and get the job done. I have also used these for cleaning my cabinets off and wiping them down. All of the towels have a white background and mainstays is a great brand that is well trusted by me as I own many products from this brand from Walmart. They are a great size as well, 16x26. I recommend these towels. I believe they have a great price for the value. These go well with my kitchen as well because I stick to dark red tones with my design. They wash well and dry well, without shrinking or fading. I have washed them several times now and they hold up nicely. I just throw them in the wash with my other towels and I haven't had any issues.
I use these thin, tightly woven 100% cotton kitchen towels throughout my home. The red zigzag pattern matches my kitchen decor and the towels are wonderful for drying glass and dishes. I store the plain white ones in the bathroom to wipe mirrors and glass table tops. The gray checkered squares match my living room decor and I am currently using them as scarves on my black end tables. They brightened the room nicely. I did not wash the towels in cold water as instructed. They did fine in warm water - no fabric softener, as it coats the fibers and reduces absorbency. I removed them from the dryer promptly when they were done. They dried quickly. Anyone who knows how difficult it is to find lint-free 100% cotton material will appreciate these excellent towels.
I am so happy with these towels! I have always seen cooks use these whenever they are cooking and wanted to use some myself. Other than wiping my hands or handling something hot, i used one to dry off the wet shrimp i wanted to cook with. Worked even better than paper towels and did not leave paper stuck to them. Easy to wash also. You can even hand wash. Will buy more to use at home.
I received the Mainstays 9 pack of flour sack towels. These towels have three patterns in the pack. One solid, one brick red color geometric pattern, and one black and white plaid type. I am a frequent user of flour sack towels and these are actually pretty nice. They are for sure thicker than ones I have previously bought at Walmart. The 100% cotton can absorb a lot. I actually love to embroider or add vinyl with custom sayings on these also. Works like a charm. I love the patterns also because you don't see the patterned ones very much! Just a great added touch. They wash pretty comparable to other brands and do wrinkle up a lot if you dry them. Sometimes I take an iron to them if I have left in dryer for a few days. Remove promptly and you probably wont have much trouble.
I like these and have purchased the flour sack towels for many years. They're great for drying dishes and I like them for drinking glasses. They don't leave lint on dishes/glass. When I have company, I want my dishes and glasses sparkling and free from smudges or spots. These flour sack towels are perfect for ridding spots and smudges. I also like them for cover my yeast dough. I bake often and make biscuits and rolls from scratch using yeast. Generally I leave the yeast dough in a bowl for a couple of hours and I always cover with a flour sack towel. These Mainstays 9 pack Kitchen Flour Sack Towels and in fact 100 Percent Cotton and they three of each design: 2 solid white, 2 red design, and 2 gray design. They wash well in COLD water and tumble dry. They can be ironed if you wish since they are cotton. They are also an adequate size for drying dishes: 16 x 26 inches.
This flour sack towel set is perfect for anyone who knows exactly how to use them. They are lightweight almost see through and are lint free. The towels are 100 % cotton and come in a perfect size of 16x26 in. For those who don't quite know exactly what to use these for, here are a couple of ways : first and foremost you can use these as an actual cheesecloth, also to keep any of your baked good warm such as breads and pastries, also since these are flour sack towels they are lint free therefore I love using these on my crystal glasses, cleaning windows, mirrors and my laptop screen with. The 9 pack is perfect, just enough for whatever it is you wanna use these for.
I am a Spark Reviewer for Walmart and was sent a free 9 pack of Mainstays Flour Sack Towels in assorted patterns to review. The dish towels are each 16” x 26”. They have a nice ½” sew hem around them. The nine-pack included 3 white towels with a deep red chevron design, 3 white towels with a gray checkerboard design, and 3 white towels with a light white small chevron design. The towels are not very thick, but then it depends on how you will use them. I prefer the lighter weight for doing different things in my kitchen. I use them for covering doughs while they rise, covering over baked goods, setting glasses on to dry, and they are great for drying hands while working in the kitchen. I also use them to cover over glassware in my cabinets to keep them clean as well as line under my glassware to prevent chips. The towels show to be washed in cold water and I did not get any running of colors when I washed them as directed. I dried them on a low setting. Being 100% cotton there is some wrinkling of the towels, but if I want them to be perfectly flat, I just run a warm iron over them. These are also perfect for taking along on picnics. I like to keep one in my car for just in case of needing a towel because they fold compact. I like the 100% cotton material because I also don't have to worry about them melting when covering warm items. Overall, I am very pleased with these towels.
Husband prefers boring old flour sack towels so it was great when I found these with a more modern design on them Bought 6 of them. They came out of the wash fine. I don't use fabric softener for better absorbancy. Just a little larger size would be nice but they look good and dry dishes great!
I received this product in exchange for an honest review. I think these towels are very cute but they're very thin. They're also pretty stiff when you first open them so I washed them and they came out much softer and able to wipe up small kitchen spills. They also work great for decoration by hanging from an oven handle or something similar.
