Very happy!

Noeticeye June 13, 2021

I have to say that I am very happy with this Mainstays Dinnerware Set! I love the quality of the pieces and the sizes are perfect. I like that the bottoms of the pieces are slightly textured so they don't slip around as easily as other sets I have. These have held up well to my kids and through several washes in the dishwasher.

Simple elegance!

Wormie June 9, 2021

This set of Mainstays Aila dinnerware set is just perfect for anyone just starting out or a family of 4. They are simple yet durable. The dinnerware set is both dishwasher and microwave safe which I always look for. The set has a nice sheen to it although not overly bright making them great to pair with other dishes or when you need extra dishes for a larger group but they are nice enough to stand alone for casual or formal dinners. The grey opal glass is perfect to match and table setting. Both the dinner plates and salad plates are a standard size. The bowls are smaller than we are used to but would be perfect for ice cream or any dessert you would want to serve. The bowls are easy to grasp and hold plus have a flat bottom that makes them very steady. The underside of the dishes is a darker grey with more of a matte finish making them easier to hold with wet hands. Just because they look like a simple set of dinnerware they are much more and well made. They should hold up quite well over time. There are 4 dinner plates, 4 salad plates, and 4 bowls. This set does not include any cups and I'm good with that since I didn't need or want more cups.

Great quality, great style

JanetJanet June 10, 2021

Love this set of dishes! Everything - the large and small plates, and the bowls - are ideal in size. What I like about the large plates is that they aren't flat; they slope up a bit so it can be like a large, very shallow bowl - sort of. Food is more apt to remain contained on the plate. The quality is fantastic - seems very durable.

Versatile dinnerware set

Thedudeslady June 17, 2021

This is a review for Mainstay's Aila dinnerware set. The set contains service for four. The twelve pieces provide each setting a large dinner plate, a small salad plate, and a bowl. Upon unpacking from shrink wrap, I noticed a subtle color difference. Closer inspection revealed a pleasant surprise. The usable surfaces of the dishes are brilliant, shiny white. The other side is more of an off white matte finish. This adds an unexpected touch of elegance to affordable dinnerware. The glass is lightweight yet durable. The best part, for me, is that the set is dishwasher and microwave safe. There is a five year warranty. Each of the four dinner plates has a diameter of 9.75 inches. The salad plates are 7.1 inches. The bowls are 6.5 inches in diameter. I recommend Mainstay's Aila dinnerware set. For an affordable price, it provides a quick and simple service for four people. This set can be used for every day use. However, it can also be dressed up for a fancier occasion. I recommend it for the easy maintenance too. Being microwave and dishwasher safe, they make life more convenient. The size of each piece is perfect for moderate portions. They make a lovely addition to a dinner set.

Amazing set

Matcus57 June 24, 2021

I absolutely love this set. The top feels like glass but the bottom has a different textured feel which I think adds a much needed grip when holding glass dinnerware. The dinner plates are a great size and feel super lightweight even when fully loaded. They design is simple yet sleek. They look amazing when setting the table. The salad plates are restaurant sized which works nicely for us. My twelve year old dropped one on our rug and not the slightest crack. I would recommend.

Lightweight

CrystalM June 8, 2021

This dinner set is very lightweight. Each piece is very thin but feels pretty durable. The set is dishwasher and microwave safe. It is a very pretty set and good sized plates. The bowls, however, are quite shallow. I don't use more than a serving of food, but, I like a bigger bowl to keep from spilling. These seem too small for my taste but are very pretty and will definitely be used.

Light weight

Wendiferous June 21, 2021

This is a nice everyday set of dishes. They hold up well to everyday use. They are a little smaller then the plates I usually get but I like that. I am trying to loose weight and I wanted a smaller plate so I don't put a ton of food on it. The light gray color is beautiful and looks great.

Decent affordable dishes

cgm030 July 2, 2021

Most of my dishes are a set of name-brand lightweight, durable, ceramic dinnerware. I chose these to supplement my set for larger gatherings, and while I don't think the quality is quite as good, they will do the trick. The Mainstays bowls have a shape I found unusual, with more sloping sides that I think will make it easier for things to spill and very slightly reduces their capacity. While they would work well for a salad, I would not want to use them for soup or cereal. The plates are a more conventional shape. All are relatively lightweight (ever so slightly heavier than the name-brand) and cleaned up well in the dishwasher. They also strike me as probably durable, though I haven't dropped one yet! The finish on these dishes is not what I expected. While the top surfaces of the plates and bowls are a traditional smooth and shiny ceramic, the bottoms are very slightly textured for a more matte finish. I don't see any reason this would cause problems, but I don't personally care for the feel in my hand. If I hadn't already opened and used these, (and they do come in sealed plastic within the box), I'd probably be inclined to return them and purchase my standby brand instead, especially given that the price point isn't much different. For infrequent use or an affordable temporary option, they're certainly not bad, but if cheap and durable are the biggest selling points for you, a melamine set may be an even better value.

Just okay

Anonymous June 9, 2021

The gray is a SUPER light shade. The bowls are not a depth I really like. Good for soup for example but would prefer deeper for cereal, etc. They do feel well made. Could use something to dress it up a bit but if you are looking for sleek and modern you could pair these up with a set in white as well for a subtle contrast in color. Maybe some nice round placemats underneath would be another way to dress up the set.

They are ok

Peanutheadbaby June 25, 2021

These plates are a nice white color the size of them i don't care for they are kinda bowl like so if you put a steak on your plate thats all thats gonna fit. There quality is questionable when they arrived most of it was broken the packaging is not good they are all stacked on top of each other with nothing in between them with a thin plastic wrap over all of them no foam or anything just a very thin cardboard box is how they arrive. I have used them in the dishwasher several times now they come out clean and haven't broke i have also microwaved them with no issues however they a quite thin if tou bump them on your counter i don't see it not breaking . You get what you lay for if your are looking for cheap dishes that are ok these are for you if your looking for thicker stronger more expensive looking dishes these are not for you.
