Mainstays Automatic Kitchen Trash Can, 13 Gallon Stainless Steel, Motion Sensor Hands-Free Soft-Close Lid Waste Bin, Black

This is the second time I have ordered this trash can and it is still a very good trash can because it keeps me from having to touch the lid, is easy to clean and does not take up too much space in my kitchen. The only downside is that it opens each time I come near, but that does not diminish the pros of this trash can.

I ordered two other trash cans from another retailer and they both arrived horribly dented. Went online to Walmart and found this one. It has exceeded my expectations. Not one little ding on it. Originally wanted one that you could also plug in but the batteries are going strong so that isn't an issue. The top closes quietly, it looks great and fits with my decor.

Easiest pail I ever had in my kitchen. The motion activated lid opens for hands full of whatever, for me its food prep disgards. it will remain open while standing over it if you have more than a single toss. I bought the white stainless and looks great in my kitchen

Great product. I was apprehensive about purchasing because I wasn’t sure about the sensor opening the lid and how quickly it would open. I was completely wrong. This can is fantastic. The lid opens quickly and easily. The bags always stay put and the price is great. I definitely recommend this product.

For some time, I have wanted to upgrade my kitchen trashcan. I wanted it bigger and I wanted it automated. Unfortunately, the ones I was coming across were priced much higher than I wanted to pay! When I saw the price on this one, my first thought was "What's wrong with it?" After reading the various reviews, it seemed that the biggest issue was the condition they were being delivered in. I had prepared myself in case mine arrived dented, but was very pleased when it was delivered in perfect condition! The color is a vibrant red, and pairs well with the other red accents in my kitchen. The top-open sensor is very sensitive and walking by the can caused it to open. So I moved it to another location that is equally accessible but not as heavily trafficked. I've been using it for about a week now and have no complaints.

It is rectangular and accommodates a tall kitchen trash bag for maximum utility. The sensor opens the lid whenever someone walks by. Being in a townhome with little room in the kitchen and dining, I don't have options for keeping it out of our pathways. Other than that, I am very happy with it. (I sometimes drape a kitchen towel over the sensor eye.)

Love my can and everyone else who has to use it. I had gotten the silver one and soon as I received it the red one came out. I hesitated and missed out, this is no more than 3 weeks ago. Since then the silver sold out 3 times and been restocked, the red hasn't been restocked yet. I'm checking EVERY DAY!!! LOL Get your can and enjoy!

I've had this for a bit over a week now (I actually got two; one for trash and one for recycling!). The red is beautiful and the stainless steel is nice too. The motion sensors are AMAZINGLY sensitive, sometimes just my hips passing by activates it. LOL. But I love them, and there's great depth so they hold a lot of trash. Also, the ring is super helpful in keeping the garbage bag in place.

I LOVE this trash can! The motion sensor is great for when Im cooking and have to throw away a wrapper and don't have to touch anything. No spreading unnecessary germs! Also, the shape fits the bag perfectly and there is no wasted space when I change bags. The bag is full! My round one always had all kinds of room when I pulled the bag out to change. Very pleased with this purchase. I got the red. Its not metallic red its more like lipstick red.

The description states it needs 3 C-cell batteries, so that’s what I purchased. It actually needs two D batteries. It also arrived scratched. I ordered delivery, not shipping, so it should’ve been more carefully handled. Now I have a scratched waste bin and expensive batteries I’ll likely never use.
