Mainstays Convertible Twin over Twin Metal Bunk Bed, Silver

This bunk bed is absolutely great price for the quality it is! The welds broke on our old bunk so needed a replacement fast. Prices have skyrocketed I guess on bunk beds since we had last purchased. This was the best price I could find and it had fast shipping. The bed once it arrived took me and my twins (15) only 2 hours to assemble. The instructions were extremely clear. All of the parts felt very well made. It even came with a section of nut and bolts that were marked as extra. We chose to assemble it as a bunk bed. Though we love that they can be made as 2 twin beds. The instructions were very easy to follow for bunk vs twin singles. I highly recommend this if you are on the fence about it. !!Oh and it doesn't squeak at all!!

Sooo I really like it ! It took me about 2 hours to assemble, because you're assembling 2 beds, so about an hr per bed. I got it for my 5 year old and 3 year old and they have no problem climbing the ladder or sleeping on it. It doesn't creak or wobble when I'm moving around on the bottom half with them either. Very sturdy. Also very light, I could move it around easily if I don't like the placement. The only thing I DID NOT like was the last part of assembling the slats. The plastic hooks that connect the slats together for extra support hurt my hands to have to pop on. And there's a LOT of them. And it's LOUD to pop them on because it's a metal bed you're clanking against. I would not assemble this at night. ALSO the box is massive, my FedEx driver would not even bring it up the stairs and me and my husband struggled to get it in our apt even as a team lift. So keep that in mind. Everything else though, very smooth. It is an Allen wrench and hex bolt fasten for everything. If you don't like those, move on, and if you don't own a screwdriver then this is for you!

Was delivered on time and came in a heavy long box. I was able to get the beds assembled on my own in a couple of hours. The directions are easy to follow but also easy to misconstrue. (the ladder threw me for a loop). Most people will need a second pair of hands to stack the beds on top of each other. Kids love it, and when properly constructed, it is quite durable.

Most easiest bed to put together only took me literally 2hrs would've been shorter than that but it was just me so i had to figure out how to balance stuff myself but anybody saying it's hard to put together is either slow or lazy because i hate putting stuff together but the instructions was easy to go by and it was simple to assemble

It took me a little more than 2 hours to put it together. I want to be cut support. I missed. Turned the wrong way other than that. No major issues. My granddaughters love the beds. One of my granddaughters said this was the best christmas gift ever. Thank you

I made sure I read all the reviews before purchased this bed, and the reviews were good. I was a bit disappointed that it was going to take 2 weeks to receive after placing my order on line, but hey, the shipping was free so why complain? The bed was delivered on the date they said it would and I could track my order on the Walmart website through my account. Cudos to the shipping department! The bed was delivered in a rather large box that was left on my front porch, it was heavy so I had my 16 year old son help me with it. The process of putting it together took about an hour and a half with 2 people. No tools were required, everything came in the box. I was s but skeptical because some of the reviews claimed that pieces were missing. Everything was there and it didn't take long to get it together and in place! The bed is sturdy and my 2 hellions LOVE it! I cannot say thank you enough to Walmart for a great product and an even better price! I'm sold and would tell family and friends looking for a quality bed to look into this one! Great bed, great service and great price. Can't stress that enough. Had 2 of the same pieces was very frusterating, the hubby used self tappers though and made it work guess this happens alot :( Its a decent bed wouldnt say the metalis very strong thou but for a 6 yr old n 3 yr old works great! thats my review honest opinion

The ladder can only be in that position as in the main photo. You can't put it on any other side of the bed. The bed squeaks with every movement. If you turn to the side, it will squeak and move the bed rubbing it against the wall and make marks on the wall. As the other people said the ladder hurts your feet, someone suggested using pool noodles and I also tried it but you need to be careful so the pool noodle do not spin when you're stepping on it or you will lose your step and fall down. On the bright side, the white looks really good and looks like a nice bed. I suggest you build the bottom first like I did, when the bottom is fully built (without the cross section rods inserted)... then build the top frame. Insert the top frame cross section rods, the as the last step insert the bottom cross section rods. This method is better as you don't need to lift up a whole bed to put on top of the other one OR if you no space to build to twin size beds side by side. So remember, no turning and tossing or getting up in the middle of the night to pee, the bed will squeak!!!!! (I apologize for the mess in the photos, there's no space for a closet or dresser in the studio apartment in Manhattan!!!)

Assembly was very difficult for a single mom of 3 kids. Certain metal pieces didn't match up evenly and there was a dent on one of the head board pieces. Will not be buying another Mainstays bunk bed. And that's with me following all the directions to a T!
