I loved everything about this frame so easy to put together just unfold it then put the cross bars in it sets high enough of the floor that I can store a lot of items underneath it and I did by myself so thank you mainstay for an easy frame and don't need any box springs.
I'm going to keep it short. I am totally impressed with the whole package, assembly, delivery and price. This kicked butt! To be totally honest, this is the ONE item that converted me to a Walmart Shopper. I've never shopped at Walmart prior to this so heavily. I just moved here from Cincinnati, Ohio. Now I look here exclusively and my Phenix City, Alabama Walmart is Amazing!!
Overall I'm very happy with this bedframe, cost effective, easy to assemble, and perfect to use without a box spring. The squeaking issue came up a dew days in, and finally got around to doing what everyone else did, but all I needed to do was put a small piece of fabric between the four MAIN frame joints, the ones that form the cross in the center, not the small individual slats. Literally jumped on the bed a bit to test and no squeaking.
I like that this Mainstay Frame was delivered so quickly. I received it in two days. One corner of the package was slightly crushed. However upon opening it there was only a slight couple of scratches in the paint. I would suggest that Walmart should use extra packaging material in the interior around the corners of their merchandise for better cushioning inside the box for more protection against dropping and bumping while their drivers are delivering. I purchased the twin size Mainstay frame in the color white. It was easy to follow the instructions and put it all together with the assembly illustration booklet and included well packaged hardware tools. I like that it is very “lightweight” for handling, but yet strong and provides very good solid support for my Allswell twin mattress. I placed “felt pads” (that I purchased separately) onto each leg cap so it can glide very easily on my wood floors. The simple frame design fits nicely against the wall in my very small bedroom and I can easily pull it away from the wall and easily glide it back when I arrange and tidy up the bed linens each morning.
Firm, tall mattress. The only complaint I have are the edges. If you get on the edge, it's a coin toss whether you will be fine or unceremoniously dumped on the floor.
The bed frame is really sturdy and well made. I wish there instructions were written instead of just drawings. I had to take it apart and reassemble it as the drawings weren't clear. Also, it is very slick for the sleep number bed I'm using on it. (An easy fix is non slip rug pads!)
I've bought the 18” Mainstays twin white bed frame in the past and it comes already attached. The screws that come with this 14” frame don't match up. It's a weird assembly and there's oblong holes in the legs. It does not look good and you have to put it together. Get the 16” or 18” one. They are so much better. This is junk.
The first thing I noticed when my box arrived was the damage it had at one end. I paid it no mind at the time, thinking it was minor. When opening the box and taking out the parts, I noticed a smaller package that was supposed to contain bolts and an Allen Wrench. Viewing the package, there was no Allen Wrench and 6 of the eight bolts were missing! I couldn't assemble my bed frame without them! So I went to Lowes and bought the bolts I needed. I used my own Allen Wrench to tighten the bolts. When it came to assembling the frame, there were two slats missing as well. I had to improvise these two missing slats by using scrap wood pieces that I had in my back yard. They do not fit perfectly, but they are better than having no slats at all. I tried calling the manufacturer whose number was on the instructions included, but of course nobody answered. I left a message with my name, number and missing parts, but nobody called me back! I am so UPSET at the quality of this bed frame, as well as the manufacturer who didn't care to return my call. It would have been so easy for them to have performed a quality inspection at their manufacturing plant before it was shipped. Now they have an angry customer who will never buy their products again.
It has missing parts and when you call the customer service number it goes directly to some woman. She promised to replace the parts and she has yet to do that. It's been a little over two months now I think so. I cannot assemble the bed completely so I do not recommend buying the product simply because you will not be able to get a hold of Customer Service if you're missing parts.
Pretty disappointed in the condition in which this was delivered and then handled by Walmarts customer service department when requesting a refund. Box and product were heavy damaged, yet in order to get a refund for the product Walmart asked if I would “kindly” repackage the product for return using another box or packaging of my own. It looks like the bed frame itself could be nice. It also looks like I might be trying to put the damaged item together to see if I can make this work, considering I won’t be able to send the item back for refund or exchange unless I purchase my own packaging materials. Frustrating- makes me never want to order from Walmart again.
