Mainstays Glass Mixing Bowl, 2.5 Quart

I recently moved and gave away a ton of stuff I thought I'd never use again. Apparently I got way to caught up in my gift giving and realized I gave away too much stuff! At the last minute I needed a medium sized glass bowl for food storage. Found this on Walmart.com and picked it up a couple of days later. Works great as I prefer glass over plastic. Decent price for a last minute need too.

This glass bowl is thick and much heavier than typical mixing bowl of the same size. Having said that, it's a good thing that I don't need silicone pad underneath when use it for cake batter mixing. I also like to mix salad in it as it's the right size for 2 people as a side dish.

Great size love the way I can see through the bowls and see what's in it. Tired of digging through my refrigerator to see what I have.

The value here is undeniable. They come shipped in a nice and rigid box with plenty of protection. When you first lift the bowls out of the box you realize you've just purchased a quality set of glass bowels. They are a nice thick glass that will take some punishment without beating or scratching and make all of your recipies look so nice and easy.

These are super nice bowls for the money. I bought this one and the 4 quart as I only have one smaller bowl and was always thinking about buying something bigger. They fit nicely together, but watch out when you pick them up because they are nice and heavy. Really happy with this purchase!

These bowls the smallest ones could be used for many things such as putting different seasonings into the smaller bowls to use when your ready to season your meats and vegetables. The smallest bowls could also be used to hold breath mints or small pieces of candy or gum. Some of the bowls could be used for soups , cereals and sauces and left over food and of course the larger of the bowls are great for tossing a salad or mixing, you name it these bowls can be used in many different ways. These glass bowls stack into each other and are quite heavy when all stacked together. I will probably just leave mine stack together and sitting on my kitchen counter all the time and just use whichever size I need when I need it. These bowls are BPA- free glass and dishwasher safe. They are clear glass bowls,a staple in any kitchen. These bowls will not absorb odors or stains due to the easy to clean glass they are constructed of. This set of bowls do not come with covers but you could easily store things in them and cover them with tin foil or plastic wrap. I'm not sure if these bowls are safe for the oven. I didn't see any info in the description of these bowls that stated they were oven proof. I would definitely recommend these bowls.

All my plastic bowls will have to make room for these, so glad I have some nice bowls to melt butter in, marshmallows, chocolate, or whatever. I've always wanted some bowls like these, I've seen them in different shapes more round at the bottom, but these look more sturdy on the bottoms.

Love this bowl. This one came with a chip on edge. I have other mainstay bowls. Disappointed with chip on it.

I really wanted to like these mixing bowls, but unfortunately, they aren't very well made, and they break easily. I'd say they aren't good mixing bowls but could be used for fruit didplays or salad. I wouldn't wash thrm in a dish washer since they are so fragile.
