You do have to make sure to put the end of the incense stick in the bottom hole to hold it more steady. It's gorgeous. As with vertical ones, it catches most of the ash, but with a full length incense stick, it is possible for the ash to spread further than the size of the circle. I have a pet peeve for when I tap off the incense and it misses the part that was supposed to catch the messy ashy part. Gorgeous. I love the little pink quartz too, it brings great energy into your space.

Besides being adorable, it is quite sturdy and bigger than I expected. The bottom is felt covered, so no scratching of surfaces. The little gemstone it comes with is just icing on the cake!

the incense sticks need wood coming out to grip, or the masala crumbles away. i ended up grinding them down and smouldering them on charcoal

This little set is perfect for a hostess gift or a small gift for an adult. The incense holder is a round, ceramic circle with phases of the moon in gold around the side. It comes with a small stone, pretty sure it’s rose quartz, that fits in a raised section on the incense holder. The bottom has a velvet like fabric cover so it won't scratch tables. This set does come with some incense sticks. They are very fragile and have a really light scent. I burn a lot of incense and I like sandalwood. This incense isn’t my favorite, but it is functional. If I were to give it as a gift to someone close to me, I would probably add a box of incense with it. Other than that, it’s a cute burner that’s a bit different from others in this price range. It works to catch ash, and when it’s not in use it still looks nice.

This Incense Holder is so pretty. I love the moon phases on it. The rock helps the mood also. The holder looks relatively average, but there is a slightly raised area on top where you place the rock. The hole for the incense stick is up there too. The sticks that come with the kit are short and are coated along the entire stick. Others that I normally use, have about 1"-1.5" of a naked piece of wood then the coating starts after that. I would suggest using the ones with a little bit of a handle with this holder. When I used the one that came with the kit, it burned all the way down to the flat surface of the holder and then went out. The rest of the stick was stuck down in the holder. I ended up getting it out, but would not recommend using that type in this holder. Overall, I really do like this incense holder and do recommend it.

it is adorable and so cute but the incense sticks get stuck in the hole and you have to dig it out with some scissors

This is a waste of time and money. I highly do not recommend. The incense that comes with it is cheap and does not burn all the way down so you have to push to get the one with a base in there. Incense does not stand up and still makes a mess. The stone is not attached so every time you clean it you must move to where it's not on mine. I would of returned but I threw the box away. Save your money I wasted mine for us all.
