Mainstays Medium Acrylic Red Yarn, 7 oz 397 yards

The yarn was a little tightly wound but it worked well for the project I was making. The price was very good. Over all I was pleased.

I absolutely love knitting with this yarn. The blue color is brilliant! It was my first attempt at knitting so I started with a simple scarf. I found it very easy to work with this yarn, it stays together, dosen't pull apart or shed. I highly recommend this yarn, especially if you are a beginner.

This Mainstays 100% Acrylic Yarn has a great feel to it and has about the same thickness as my usual brand of yarn. This skein weighs 7 ounces and measures 397 yards, which is a little over 30 yards more than my usual brand but this Mainstays brand costs approximately 25% less. The instructions do not mention dye lots so I am unsure of the color consistency between batches. One of the differences from my regular brand was that the starting end of the yarn was difficult to find on the outside of this skein and I never did find the starting end to pull from the inside of the skein. Once found and started, this yarn felt great in terms of weight and thickness, pulled out of the skein easily, and there was no separation of the strands while working. The care instructions listed on the label are clear and easy to read. Items made with this yarn can be machine washed in water up to 104 degrees Fahrenheit on the delicate setting and then dried in a dryer, also on low heat. This yarn is not intended to be bleached or ironed. As a bonus, they include an easy-to-read pattern on the inside of the label. I would buy this yarn again and would recommend it to my friends as a great way to save money while still getting great quality yarn.

I love everything about my Mainstays Medium Acrylic Brown Yarn, 397 yd 7 oz.m except the color. There is something about the tones in this shade of brown that is beyond unappealing to me. Maybe too much of a green base in the dye? I'm really not sure but Colors are one of my natural talents and there is just something in this blend of brown the make the shade so unappealing. I figured I'd play with it a little to see if it grew on me or looked better once it was worked. But the shade is just horrid to me. I saw the photo online but in person it's just not my tones of brown. For most this seems crazy but it is what it is for me. The wind of the yard was great. The workability was great. I was able to roll it into a ball with minimal effort and knotting and it was a good sized ball. A big one for me and a huge problem I have with yark when I wind it is extra fiber building up and working down till it started to cause knots. This was the first yarn I have come a cross that have no extra fiber build up at all. It is fairly soft for acrylics abd works very well. Factor in the price point and literally everything about this yarn is perfect but my Hopefully personal issue with the tone of brown. If they switch to a more red based brown it has potential to be absolutely perfect. I like my browns bright or natural and neutral but this one just doesn't hit the notes I need for any project. Luckily I have a kiddo who will find a use for it very quickly.

this is a good product and price is great. The only thing I have to say is that it is AWFUL to start the skein. I have to try an tear the whole middle out to find the start. It should be on the label how to start and a starter strand hanging out of the end. This is totally frustrating and a great waste of time!!!!

This is a a blue skein of yarn that will probably last a long time. It is a medium yarn. The blue color is a medium blue. The yarn acrylic is not very soft. So it would not feel nice on the skin if you knitted a scarf out of it. I knitted a scrunchie--the yarn is too bulky for a scrunchie. But the yarn is easy to work with and does not fray. This would be great yarn for a beginner knitter or craft projects for your kids.

The website, at the time of order, displayed 798 yards for the same price ($2.98) and the color shown is not an accurate representation. The actual color is more of a cappuccino color.

There was a crusty weird substance sprayed on the inside of the box where the yarn sat jammed into the box where it couldn't move. It is very clear whomever packed it intended for it to dry into the yarn and some of it did. I attempted to clean it off the yarn and my hand still feels funny and strange. I washed my hands for a while and the yarn with soap for a good long while.

Why isn't this available? You no longer seem to be carrying value yarn. Disappointing. My membership is not worth the price . Found out after I signed up you don't deliver to my area and now this item that I use in large quantities to make blankets is not available. Jacket I ordered got cancelled. Walmart is a joke
