Mainstays Nonstick 9" x 9" x 2" Square Cake Pan, Brownie Pan, Gray

I was pleasantly surprised to be able to buy two, steel non-stick pans for about the same price as 5 disposable pans. This purchase was a no-brainer. I used both in the preparation of a meal the night I received them and they worked great.

I really like my new Mainstays 9-inch Nonstick Square Cake pan. This pan is great for things like fudge or corn bread, but I really like the square shape just for traditional layer cakes as that such an easy shape to cut for serving and especially when serving a large number of people. It is also great for things like quiche or macaroni & cheese. In the little baking I have tried so far it heats evenly due to the steel construction and the items throughout the pan brown uniformly on the bottom. The durable nonstick coating works well and cooked food releases easily so you don’t have to use grease or cooking sprays which will help keep the pan from getting those baked on marks that never seem to wash away. You also do not need to use paper liners. The pan washes easily in the sink with soap and water and it is also dishwasher safe if you choose to go that route. I am also pleased with the heavy duty weight of the pan that is sort of “just right” to be firm and handles easily when hot using a mitt or pot holder. Some pans are so thin they are almost as flimsy as a foil pan. That weight is fine for cookies or light food items, but this pan is also great for heavier food items as the pan will not buckle if you lift it from one corner even though it is safest to always remove a hot pan using both hands. I recommend this pan and other sizes and shapes in the same steel line.

I really needed this and only used it 2 times and it's peeling so now I have to use wax paper at the bottom so I don't get plastic or metal in my mouth. And I hand wash everything. So I don't know why it's happening I need to get a glass one

yes i would recommend these to folks..its a pretty good brand,however ordered online, received same day per delivery person..had no idea they were banged up and had to take a hammer to them to get dents out of. maybe they were rejects in store or delivery caused lots of trauma.ordered online so i didnt have to go store, so thats why i kept them..
