Mainstays Stainless Steel 16 Quart Stockpot with Lid

I really love this pot it is really big and perfect for soups. I love how deep this pot is and how it's stainless steel. I know this pot will last me a long time and be perfect for when I make gumbo for my family. I love how it's sturdy and great quality. I love how the lid is see through. This pot is extremely easy to pick up. I would definitely recommend this pot to everyone. It's great for cookouts, big families, and parties. I think this is a really essential pot just to have in your household.

This huge 20-qt stock pot has quickly become the most versatile and most used pot in my kitchen. Not just for pasta, soup, stew, and of course stock, but also the perfect size for my immersible sous vide wand. In the photo I wanted to show how perfect the depth is when the wand is attached, but of course the wand goes on the inside. The pot is great quality, heavy duty but not too heavy in weight. I was a bit anxious about the handles at first, about the safety of lifting and moving the pot when it's full, but that's not a problem. The handles are very firmly attached as you can see in the other photo. I also love the glass lid with vent hole that allows me to check on the contents without having to lift the lid to see. Great addition to any kitchen.

So far we've made rice in it twice for breakfast and for dinner we cooked turnip greens in it. I put water in the pot, put the lid on top and the water started to boil within 3 minutes, it got hot fast, which is perfect. The handles didn't get hot, I've had pots like this in the past where you have to use pot holders to touch the handles and I didn't have to do that with this pot, same with the lid, I just touched the top's knob and it wasn't hot, it was safe to touch. The rice didn't stick and burn at the bottom, which is a major plus and I didn't have to stir the rice constantly.

I replaced my old stockpot with this gem and I am very pleased with it! My old stockpot was made of a heavier metal and it rusted. This pot is made of stainless steel with an aluminum core and has a shatter resistant glass lid. This pot is less likely to rust! The stockpot holds up to 20 quarts and is great for canning, making large portions of food such as soups, steaming lobsters, boiling corn on the cob, chili and so much more! I love that it has a glass lid so I can see how things are cooking. The lid has a pressure release hole on it as well. The label recommends that you cook with medium to low heat as high flames can cause your pot to discolor. It is dishwasher safe and fits in my refrigerator. I have made chicken soup and chili in so far in the pot and loved how evenly everything has cooked. It is great to be able to look through the glass lid and know when to stir. I am looking forward to boiling lobsters this summer as I know it will hold many! I highly recommend this stainless steel stock pot as it is perfect for everyday use and large gatherings. It is made of good quality and will last a long time!

Okay so I wouldn't consider myself a "professional" but I was able to use this with ease. I cooked hambone soup that literally fed 30 people out of this. Doesn't fit in dishwasher but easy to hand clean. Highly Recommend!!

This pot arrived just in time for some tasty chili! The pot worked great and was easy to clean. I even scorched a little at the bottom. The pot is built solid. It isn't one of the cheap tin pans that sometimes produce. The size is about perfect to cook soups for large families. I am very happy and would definitely recommend to a friend!

This pot isn't too bad. I like that it is 12qt because i cook a lot for family and friends for holidays, birthdays or just any time we want to get together. I like to make big pots or chili and soups to frreze as individual meals and i like to make my own stocks to freeze to use for other recipes. I have a much smaller pot that i usually use and it always boiled over. This pot has a nice clean look to it. Its not too heavy either. I like the see through glass lid with th silver knob on the top. I thought the pot felt kind of thin at first but it cooked well and its kind of easier not being heavy. The label says not to use on high heat as it may blacken the pan. It worked very well on medium heat. My water came to a boil quickly. My soup came out nicely. It did not boil over at all so its the perfecr size for what i will be using it for. When i have everyone over for spaghetti night there will be plenty for everyone and i will not have to use multiple pots for pasta. This pot cleaned up nicely as well. I really like the stainless steel look. I tbink this pot overall is very nice. I think this pot would also be a nice gift for wedding, christmas, etc.

I was very surprise when this stock pot arrived. initial thought was it was very sturdy, thick and well made. it did not have that cheap, thin metal feel to it that I expected. I used the stock pot to cook a "crawfish boil" and it cooked evenly and clean easily. the handles were attached well which made me comfortable in picking up the very full and very heavy pot and pouring out the stock. The lid is clear which made it easy to check on my food without having to open the lid and have extremely hot steam water fall off. I cannot say i would recommend any stainless steel in cooking creamy or sticky foods such as sauces or noodles. The metal in general is not good at non-stick. but for any boiling purposes i would recommend. The Size of the stock pot was perfect in my situation for the low country boil. I had to add several ingredients including whole potatoes, crawfish, sausage, corn on the cobb and shrimp. I was able to fit enough to feed a family 5-6. no one likes to have 4 pots of dinner they are waiting on. Overall its a great addition to my southern kitchen.

This pot is the size I have always wanted and needed! This Mainstays 12 quart stock pot works great for my family of four. I tried my hand at making posole this year for the first time ever and none of my pots would fit everything... but I did not realize that until about halfway through and had to split it between my two biggest pots and needless to say, it was a huge mess. So when I saw this pot I knew it would be the perfect size for my next try! If you have a big family, cook a lot or like to freeze meals I recommend this for you. And at such a reasonable price for this size I definitely feel like it's an excellent choice. I like that It's stainless steel with a 3ply bottom and I chose the one with the glass lid because I like to see what I'm cooking in there and I think it looks nicer as well. The only thing I'd say might bother some people is the handles do get very hot while cooking, just like the rest of the pot. But I just use my oven mitts if I need to grab them and I'm perfectly happy with that.
