Mainstays Stainless Steel Dual-Section Flat Cheese Grater, Gray

So I really didn't have high expectations for this cheese shredder since it's so cheap in price. I just needed something to get me by until I found a good one. Surprisingly, this works great. I don't need to buy a “better one” this one does the job and I like the little slits on the sides to help keep it in place while shredding.

My vintage box shredder got so rusted I was reluctant to use it. I primarily use electric shredders but they don't work well for soft cheeses so I purchased this as a replacement. I opted for the flat style to save space and ease of clean-up. This item certainly does that. What I didn't care for is the flex of the shredder. It was hard to keep in place which made me worry about my knuckles. I also did not care for the combination style of shredding (large vs. small) on the same side. But, overall a good purchase for my occasional use.

Hello review readers if your reading this message trying to make a decision on purchasing this product KEEP LOOKING! The pros to this grater is it's the perfect size and the design of it is actually spot on. However the cons are it's very cheaply made, the quality and durability was not a factor at all when making this product. If you looking for something to be a back up or need a quick fix then I would say get it simply because there's no long term plan for this item. If not I definitely wouldn't recommend this item for no other purpose.

I bought this cheese grater because it had 2 grating sizes and has a relatively ergonomic design. It also lays flat in the shallow kitchen drawer I keep it in. HOWEVER- I've had this grater less than 3 months and it's already cracked in 3 places, including either side of the handle. I know it's a cheap grater but I think even Dollar Tree could've done better than this. Save your money, buy a nicer grater!

I had planned on using this grater to replace my current grater which is very old and is beginning to crack, to my dismay, this grater is made extremely cheaply. The rubber feet on the bottom of the grater do not do what they are supposed to do and it still slides on the counter. The plastic is also very cheap so if you are grating a block of cheese and need to apply pressure to this grater it will not hold up for long. If you are using this to grate vegetables such as zucchini, it should work fine . Overall, I am very disappointed in the quality of this product and will need to continue my search for a new kitchen grater.

I was So excited about this handheld grater. It looked nice and thick and wanted something I could Pull in and out of the drawer for easier access. I ordered Online as I didn't see it in the store. I got it and still was excited. It looked nice and sturdy. I gonto Use it the first time and was disappointed to say the least. The first time using it grating soft cheese I heard a crack. Yes, the plastic is thin and where the grater and handle meet it has cracked. It's not thing & sturdy as I was Hoping. Ladies & gents, save your money and do not buy this one. I wanted to love it, but was a waste of money.

A beautiful overall design but it does not cut well. The BLADE is very poor, it has almost NO BITE. Each hole is too flat. It has a coarse cut and a fine cut, the fine cut side can be used to scratch an itch it is so weak. I have tried it on cheddar cheese, elephant garlic, and fresh ginger several times. All the grated material sticks to the underside. I'm going to throw it away. This is the first time I've gotten a bad product from Walmart or Mainstays. What happened to their quality control ⁉️ (This text editing box sucks - on my Android phone.)

I bought this item on January 11th. It is July 2 today and it broke last week. I have probably only used it 10 times.

It's very flimsy. it's also kind of pointless to have both sizes in this direction...i end up shredding both sides every time. I wanted something cheap, so it works for now, but its a little too cheap!
