We were very impressed with the quality of this bookshelf! Very sturdy and a good build process. The included instruction book was clear and well written. One of our pieces did come damaged and customer support was easy to work with and quickly sent a replacement!
This bookcase is sturdy (heavy), has a wall tie to keep it from tipping forward, and looks nice alongside other wooden furniture. The assembly instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the edges of the wood and the packets of hardware were marked clearly. No complaints and I really like it.
This is a sturdy set of shelves. The backside of the supports have a raised edge where the back board fits perfectly so there is no problem to get it aligned.
This was very easy to assemble with following the instructions in the box. I haven't had to use the wall anchor yet, but it is very useful to include it with the package if needed. The item is heavy. If you are unable to move heavy objects, make sure you have an additional set of hands to help move it.
We bought this for my 14yr old boys room. He was able to put it together with little help. He loves that it has open shelves as well as doors. He picked out the color and likes the medium wood. His only complaint was he wished that the hardware was packaged by steps vs type.
I purchased two of these and I am using them as shelving in my linen closet. They were a perfect fit for the size of the closet.
Over the years, I have assembled many DIY bookshelves, tv stands, etc. This shelving unit was very difficult to do by myself. i couldnt hold 2 sides and the bottom all at once. They were only attached with short dowels . The bottom fell forward breaking one dowel (no extras) and taking 2 chunks out of the inside bottom piece where the dowels were. I was dissappointed. But some black duct tape civers that, sorta, and it is the back of the bottom shelf so it shouldn't be too noticeable. I do like the thickness of the sides and shelves. I would buy another one, knowing i need to use a wall as support while building.
I didn't realize the "wood" was so heavy and thick ( about one inch). Which is great compared to standard bookcases you assemble that are half that. It was hard to push in the little wood pieces but caution using a hammer you might break the faux wood coating like everything is made with. Unless you can pay for REAL wood furniture this is how it is. It took me, a senior, more than two hours to assemble by myself. Once put together it is study but don't understand why it only stands on the two side pieces and not the back piece. One of the removable shelves is a half inch too wide and sticks out. It was placed on the bottom but still can be seen. I only noticed it after. It's sturdy and looks nice though
This shelf was ordered for our daughters 13th birthday. It is very flimsy and cheaply made. It came with a huge hole and corners smashed and we had to return it.
The item I ordered still hasn't been delivered, so I cannot comment as to the quality of the product. I am giving one star in each of these three categories based on the aforementioned.
