I bought these stairs to teach my Shih Tzu how to climp the stairs since she's never been taught to. She is a little afraid, but I bought wooden ones (which wasn't tall enough anyway) first, but she wouldn't try. But these are high enough for my bed & she's doing good & doesn't seem afraid of them. They are very strong & soft. I highly recommend them.
This product works like a charm for my 10lb dog! Our bed sits very high and these are the only steps I found that would work for the height of our bed.
We got this for an older dog who was having a hard time getting on the bed and he loves it. I like the fact it is foam. You don't have to worry about bumping into it at night.
Steps work well, light weight, easy to move. Don't care for the side color, but that's not important not really. The only problem with the steps is, my dog doesn't want to use them. LOL. Guess her knee doesn't hurt bad enough yet. That's a good thing. At least I have them in place if she ever needs them. They are light enough to pick up and move whereever I want.
I was leary buying foam stairs but they're relatively firm. We have a Yorkie who was severely abused by his former owner so he is (rightfully) afraid of nearly everything. He's too little to jump up on the couch so I wanted to get him some stairs to use. I really wanted hard platic stairs with a cover on them because I didn't think he'd like the feeling of stairs that compressed under his weight (12 lbs). I couldn't find any affordable hard plastic/cloth covered steps so I reluctantly bought these. I was really happy to find that, while they are foam rubber, these stairs are pretty firm so they don't give him the feeling of falling. He's now sitting on the couch and lovin life! We also rescued a Westie. He weighs 22 lbs and the stairs hold his weight well too. All in all, they're a good buy and will help your pets get around better.
I was worried at first because I couldn't get my Shih Tzu to go up the steps. 2 days of putting his treat @ the end of the bed did it. Now he just goes up the steps smoothly
i thought these pet stairs were like the ones I'd purchased a few years ago from chewy. Solid sterdy foam with a zip off cover to wash. But these step are filled with cardboard. No foam, and my dogs struggle to use them. I would never recommend them
The risers are too narrow for safe passage (up and down) for my pets. Not safe!
There is no weight on the bottom to hold upright once the dog gets to the top step. It will tip over with the dog on it. Sure not helpful for an old dog with little mobility in their back legs. Could cause more harm than good. We have attached it with Velcro to the side of the bed but the dog is too afraid of it now. Westie weighs about 21 lbs. My 6 lb Maltese will jump from the 2 step to the bed since it tips over even with her weight on the top step.
Foam can not handle the weight of a big dog, this set of steps started flattening right away, cannot hold much weight. My cat (28lbs) tried to use them and they flipped on him. Not happy with purchase, but don't feel it's the sellers fault, my expectations were too high I guess.
