Tail and mane shampoo remains my favorite. Years ago I tried it and swore my hair grew and flourished. Couldn't find it for quite a while but have found it again (%26 it's less than other shampoos which when tested are as bad for your hair as a chemical process...test them you'll see). Anyway not sure it's for all hair types but it i love it!

Originally made for horses, this brand works great on my waist-length hair. It softens my hair and for the amount of abuse mine takes every day, that is a great thing. I also use the deep moisture conditioner - the pair together is just what keeps my hair looking smooth, soft, and makes my waves wave!!

Excellent product if your hair is breaking off or breaking or thinning then it strengthens your hair and makes your strand thicker. This is a must have.

My hair was falling out after I had taken a medication and seems it would not stop. I have thin wavy hair now and did not want to lose more, and someone suggested this shampoo. It usually is used on a horse's mane and tail, which I knew about, but had not tried it on my hair. I have now been using it for several years and I have little hair loss. Also prevents my frizzies when it is humid and leaves it soft and managable. Yes, humans use it too! The conditioner is good too.

i grew up watching my mom use this regilously and her hair was absolutely gorgeus, God rest her soul... I use it as well. anytime i think i want a change in hair care and try something different, im not satisfied and i go back to using my mane n tale...

I have a Maltese and he doesn't shed so this shampoo definitely deserves 5 stars for how well it cleans and smells

I use this in the shower. its seems to work well! it however doesnt taste as good as pie. So if your hungry buy pie, if your hair is dirty try shampoo

It used to be that Mane 'n Tail was shampoo for horses. It was good for dealing with the dense, dry hair horses can have. But it didn't take long for people to realize they could also use it on their human hair, because soap is soap. And you got a LOT of the horse shampoo for comparatively little; it was like buying shampoo in bulk. Horses are big, people are not. Unfortunately at some point the people who make Mane 'n Tail realized this and started selling smaller, people-sized bottles of their shampoo. And what that means is that if you buy a bottle of this shampoo, you are paying way more money and getting way less product. As of this writing, a bottle of VO5 is a little over a dollar for close to 17 ounces of shampoo. This bottle of Mane 'n Tail cost me roughly $3 for only 12 ounces of shampoo. That's 30% less shampoo for three times the price. The question is then: is it worth it? Is there anything legitimately special about Mane 'n Tail that would require such a huge premium price for such a small bottle of shampoo? Well, I've been using it for about two weeks now and I have noticed absolutely no change in the look or feel of my hair. The formula of the shampoo is thicker than VO5, I'll give them that. Mane 'n Tail is so thick it's almost more of a gel than a liquid soap. But the simple fact is, it has not meaningfully changed my life (or my hair). Either you'll be buying a new bottle of shampoo every six weeks with Mane 'n Tail, or you'll be buying a new bottle of shampoo every eight weeks with a cheaper brand. Soap is soap, folks.

Haven't bought this product in years. Neglected to check volume. Product a victim of shrinkflation so not the great value it used to be. Probably won't buy again because of that.

for an incredibly expensive product that I have used since childhood on both animals horses and my hair and body, did not mind paying the high price for the small volume, but then had to wait for delayed, delivered supposedly which didn't actually happen till 2 Days Later package which was also damaged cracked open and leaking not providing the amount of ounces I paid for
