Bought the apple flavored nutrigood low-sugar snacks today, hoping my guy would like them, and he snarfed some right down, no hesitation.
Thank you so much from my two senior QHs for the free sample of low sugar Snax. They absolutely loved both types.
I am so glad that you are making this product. I work with senior horse's I Do however wish you would make this in peppermint as I this ideal for older horse's with sugar issues n metabolism issues and horse's with allergies as peppermint is the treat of choice for horse's with allergies I wish you could make them in peppermint I will keep buying them they are well excepted n enjoyed thank you
I looked long and hard for low sugar treats for my percheron...he's a cushings horse and I really have to watch his diet. These treats are a perfect blend and taste great. The ONLY problem with them is that they are hard...my horse cannot chew them (he's 25). I wish Manna Pro would make these in a softer version for older horses.
I purchase the apple flavor. Both of my horses love the treats! I had to return a bag because they smelled moldy. The last bag I could not finish using because they became moldy.
I've been buying these for a year or two for my gelding with insulin resistance. He thinks they are yummy and my other horse does too. Usually they aren't too hard, even for his old man teeth. But my last batch was super hard. I was struggling to even break them for him, and finally ended up cutting my fingers on the edge of a treat when my hand slipped trying to break one in half. I'm just adding them to his soaked feed now. I don't think I'll order them again because I don't know how hard they'll be. Disappointing.
I've been using these treats for awhile because they are low in sugar. My horse likes them, but the treats crumble so much that I feel I've wasted a lot of money. At the end of this bag there was 5oz. of dust and 6 oz. of crumbs. (In a 4lbs. bag!) Too bad because they are a nice snack for Cushing's horses.
First and last time with these treats. 2 of 3 horses almost choked. Per our vet, we had to flush with water to dislodge the stuck pieces. Fortunately this worked. I think the small size and hard consistency are a problem. I have fed other Manna Pro horse treats and chicken products with no problem.
I bought this yesterday and this morning when I opened it there was mold on the cookies. They were sealed shut..
I was so happy to find these for my metabolic pony. Imagine my surprise a couple of days ago to find a thin white fuzz over the ends and on some of the sides. They've been kept sealed in my tack room which is not air conditioned but enclosed with a concrete floor a dehumidifier. The retailer will not replace or refund because I didn't store them in a dry cool place. A dehumidified tack room with an average of 70-75 isn't cool or dry enough??? These should have a warning label to be stored in the FRIDGE.
