Bought a few of these previously, just to try out, and they were perfect for home tapping. I bought a few more for next year. Very sturdy, heavy gauge, SS is well made and held up well to inserting into tree and later removal.

Beginner sap hound
This was my first year collecting sap. I purchased six spouts and tapped a few big leaf maples. My neighbor saw what I was doing and the contest was on. I gave him half of what I had purchased and we were on a race to see who could collect the most. We were late in the season and with very little experience, were able to serve our family one a serving or two of syrup. It started as spark and this year we will be expanding our collection and processing capacity. Thanks Lehmans!!
