Plain craftsmanship. Plenty of metal in the blade for a lifetime of sharpening. Would also recommend getting a leather razor strap and cutting fluid or compound for maintaining razor sharpness. Dishwasher safe, the blades come with a rough edge that doesn't cut too well, I assume for safety, that needs to be honed for a truly sharp edge.

The knives come in plastic packaging that states they are not dishwasher safe. The knives are nice and sharp but really frustrating as I only purchased them because I needed dishwasher safe knives.
