Nice sturdy unit with an attractive finish. Assembly instructions could have been a little more detailed, but it fits together well. Overall a great value.
I've been a fitness buff my entire adult life and have owned several chin-up support systems. This Power Tower is exactly what I've been needing! This took me around an hour to assemble and a 16mm socket wrench is VERY handy! All of the joints go together well and I am very impressed by the stiffness of the design. The push up bars are a perfect diameter and have a texture so your hands don't slip. The pads on the chin-up bar are firm enough to allow a good grip without being too soft or spongy. The top feature for me, is the design of the chin-up bar with the bends that allow you to choose hand angles with a close or wide grip. I am impressed in every way, BUT, as with lots of gym equipment, the plastic end covers on the bottom struts fall off easily if the unit is moved. I wish they would be glued or clipped in place as I see them disappearing some day. I definitely recommend the Marcy Power Tower!!!!
Two things, when you receive it, lay the box down, then open. Not only is there probably 62 pieces total, but you will also need help at a certain time to put it together. I also didn't realize how unworked my core really is. I've played with this a the gym, but boy, just being able to get on it and doing a few crunches, really tells you how much you really need this. I have now incorporated this into my workout routine. I love it, you will to, it is well made, weights about 75-80 lbs when fully completed. It is built strong, tall and stable. Try it.
Marcy Power Tower TC-3515 Assembly: Illustrated diagrams are not as clear as they should be. Piece number 2 in the instructions doesn't match the actual part. Page 3 shows only one of bolt 19 going into the bottom but it means for there to be two. Instructions for tightening the nuts / bolts should be more clear rather than just a picture of a crescent wrench and Allen wrench On page 5, the nuts connecting to bolts (19) are instructed to go on the outside of the frame, but on pages 6 and 7 it instructs them to be on the inside. The bolts, washers, and caps that are shown on page 8 should be done before the pieces (6) are installed on page 4. It's very difficult to install the bar and bolts during this step. The caps are shown in the picture on page 8 but are not in the list of items used at the top of the page. Assembly of the foam pads on page 9 should be done before the pieces are put onto the rest of the frame. It would make the assembly of the pads much easier. Usage: Dips feel comfortable while using this. You can feel the frame of it flexing, but it still feels sturdy. Pull-ups and Chin-ups are fine but the frame flexes quite a bit when performing the action. Leg raises feel very sturdy and can't feel the frame flexing while performing. Overall the operation is good. Adding weight to the exercises might cause some concern depending on how much the person weighs plus the added weight.
Easy assembly all you need is a ratchet, solid built and good height perfect for the garage. Feel free to look up 50 pullups routine its awesome.
I have added this to my home gym. It was not too bad to assemble. Took some time but everything lined up really well. I recommend a 5/8" socket wrench though. Will make it a lot easier on you. The hardware was nicely packaged and numbered. Since the directions do not have any words you need to be able to look at a drawing and determine what to do. Seems to be very sturdy too. I did pullups, dips and leg ups and it was very still. Doesn't feel shaky at all. It is a perfect addition for me. I have a small bench, some dumbbells and a treadmill in my dining room and it fits perfectly.
Works fine, actually provides gains. It's a pull up extravaganza you'll be v shaped in no time...
This is a well built and heavy duty piece of exercise equipment that uses your body weight as resistance. I was somewhat surprised that, although it includes an owner's and an assembly manual, I did not find literature on how to use the apparatus. Luckily, I googled it, and push-ups on the lower struts and mid arm bars, leg lifts on the mid pads and pull-ups on the upper bar were demonstrated. I was disappointed that there are no adjustments available which will negatively impact some folks. Be aware that this equipment stands over 7 feet tall and will need additional headroom to do pull-ups.
The purchase on Walmart.com was easy and price was great - shipping was quick but after delivery we noticed the box was ripped and torn which ended up damaging a couple portions of the rubber grip and a crack/dent in part of the base.
Bar came in damaged. Almost looks used. Total bummer. It's an anniversary gift and it looks like I purchased him a used machine.
