Just what I wanted and expected

Woofer56 September 3, 2013

I've only had it a couple days, but here's the early review: Came packaged well with no extra or missing parts. Pretty easy to put together alone though the directions recommend having someone help put the handle bar tower together because of the cable connection. All tools needed came with it. I was worried about fit as I'm a big guy (6-2, 275lbs) but I actually had to lower the seat from full extension (where I normally have to set things). Pretty sturdy as long as you tighten all the fittings correctly and I'm not getting any wobble while riding. The magnetic resistance is probably not resistant enough for hard core excercisers, but fine for most others. The only flaw is slightly inconsistent resistance while pedaling. Mine is very very quiet. Has a small footprint so it fits a lot of places. The seat is more comfortable than seats I've had on bicycles in the past but you can't expect your sofa cushion on an exercise cycle. I've only had it and used it for a few days so I can't speak to it's life yet.

A Decent Stationary Bike

Historyman54 June 24, 2013

I like this bike a great deal. It's easy to assemble, but the features that mean the most to me are its ease of use and that it holds the user in a natural position. My previous stationary bike held me in an unnatural position, setting my feet out in front of me. Riding this bike is much like riding an actual bicycle, which makes it easier to handle a workout of any useful length. I have arthritic knees, so I appreciate how little I have raise my foot to get myself into position to get on the seat and get to work. What I don't like is that the handle bars are not like those on a real bicycle; rather they are vertical and high. Also the computer has "easy, one button control." What's easy about that? I don't care about calories used, elapsed time or the other things this computer rotates through. What I want it to show me is how far I've gone, period. It seems to me that "easy control" would be exactly that. That being said, on the whole, I'd recommend this bike to anyone who is looking for a good, basic stationary bike.

I bought this on a whim, frustrated and needing to get back in shape. I work full time, have 2 kids in every activity possible and am going to school to get my masters degree....finding time to get to a gym or setting aside time for a workout dvd is near impossible. I needed something that if I had a few minutes here or there I could use. I reviewed several exercise bikes on this and other sites before purchasing and this one looked the best for the money. I wanted something I could have in the livingroom to use while watching tv or being with the kids and this is perfect! The bike was easy to put together, it's lightweight so it can be easily moved around, and it's extremely quiet. I went from not exercising at all to riding 2-5 miles a day. I've noticed a huge difference in the 2 weeks I have been using it. We've spent a lot of money on pricey treadmills, ellipticals and other equipment (all which are too big and I don't want in the livingroom) and this is by far the best buy for the money. I would recoommend this to anyone not wanting to invest a ton of money, but wanting results. I'm not an avid bike rider so if you are, the only thing I would mention is the tension may not go high enough for what you're looking for. Extremely satisfied customer!!

perfect for what we need

gonzo May 4, 2020

perfect for what we needed. since covid-19 is not allowing us to go to the gym, we wanted something to keep us moving at home. the 8 resistance levels are perfect for both me and my wife. i use level 6 for 30 min for 300 calories (slower pedaling but stronger resistance) and my wife goes between levels 2-3 for 40 min for 500 calories (faster pedaling less resistance). seat is easy to adjust and has a lot of height levels. this was also the only bike that we could find that would ship to hawaii, which was a process in itself finding one that would. shipping was expensive at $70 on top of the cost of the bike but we use it every day and have had no issues at all. this is not a high tech fancy bike, it is very basic but gets the job done. you will need a separate stand in front of you if you want a phone or tablet to watch as there is nothing attached to the bike, or move it in front of the tv lol, its not that heavy. comes with all tools to put together and set up took only about 30 min for me. great product for price

Great Exercise Bike

Prettybetty May 23, 2011

Easy ship to store and pick up.Easy load and unload. Easy to put together. It says you will need two people to strech the cable and attach to proper position. You can do it with a prayer and a firm insisting grip! :) Seat can become hard while getting use to it. Use a pillow or gel seat pad if nessary. Whatch tv and ride! If you like to exercise buy it!

Simple and great

Parvejk January 21, 2017

Bought this bike 2 weeks ago, price was good $107 with tax. A little tricky to assemble the tension cord, all you have to do is pull the bottom cable out and adjust with the nut in the bottom. Besides that everything was simple. Bike works great and you can barely hear the sound when biking. Great buy

Marcy Upright Bike: ME-708

BeachWalker November 15, 2016

Bike works well. Installation is easy if you follow instructions. WARNING Do not change the Number 8 setting on the tension cable. Keep it on that setting that it comes in the box. Read the instructions first and check you have the correct parts. Then install as instructed. I installed this bike myself but if you have a person to help hold the tension cable it helps. Took me 45 minutes from start to finish. I'm 6'4" and have plenty of leg space to pedal. It feels solid on a rug floor. Take your time installing this bike and DO NOT force a part on. You will find it easy to install with patience.

Good if looking for a basic, cheap exercise bike

Cherie December 18, 2016

I got the exercise bike so that in spring when I bring out my normal bike it won’t be a huge transition. This is a basic and cheap exercise bike. If you are looking for something that will be a challenging workout this is not the exercise bike for you. I’ve had the bike a couple of weeks, it was easy to setup. It is easy to move around and does not take up much space. The computer part had a broken wire, but I did the warranty setup and the company sent me a new computer part. All the computer part does is track your speed, calories, distance, and time. It is not necessary to ride the exercise bike. I have a bad knee and this is a low impact workout. I ride it for about 30 to 60 minutes with speed bursts every 5 minutes. I have set the tension setting at 5. All in all it is a good option for me, low cost, small footprint easy to move around, and will keep my bike riding muscles in shape for spring.

Good for price and a beginner

D2EJRTS December 13, 2012

Bought this bike for rehab of a bad knee. The reviews said it was quiet...and it is..very quiet!! It was fairly easy to put together, I did it alone in about 45 minutes. It's not heavy and can be moved easily to any room. The seat is uncomfortable, it feels hard, if you plan on spending any time on the bike. I suggest buying a padded cover with it. I changed the handle bars around so it suits me better, and that seems to work fine. I only gave it 4 stars because this bike is for people who are out of shape. It's hard for me to even work up a sweat at the hardest level. I'm a 53 year old bus driver who sits all day behind the wheel and I find this bike too easy right at the git go, but it should at least help mobility in my knee. If you are somewhat fit and looking for a bike for calorie burn, this is not that bike. Also it took forever to arrive. I used site to store, and it wasn't shipped until the date I was given for "delivery by", then it was another week before I could pick it up.

small and lightweight

Ayteem May 20, 2013

This is my third staionary bike and by far the smallest and lightest. I bought my first from Walmart 4 years ago and it lasted 2 years before breaking down to the point it wasn't practical to fix. I'd paid $150 for it so I felt like I had gotten my money out of it. Thinking that a more expensive bike would last longer, I bought one from Amazon for almost $400. It turned out to be a piece of poor engineering. Almost immediately I was having to weld on parts that broke and replace stripped bolts. When the crank broke in half last month I gave up and threw it in the trash. This time I decided to spend the minimum amount and just plan on only getting 2 years life out of one. This Marcy would probably be perfect for someone under 5'9" and under 175 lbs. It is actually very well made and well engineered. It's a snap to assemble. If you are smaller and don't want a strenuous workout, I highly recommend this stationary bike.
