Great pot pie
We have enjoyed Marie Callendar pot pies for years. While they still have quite a bit of nice sized chicken pieces, vegetables and gravy, we have noticed they now have a very chemical taste to them. I usually purchase them as a multiple pack and noticed this issue in the last two purchases of this item. This is very disappointing as it was one of my favorite easy to heat comfort foods. I don't think I will be purchasing any more any time soon. Whatever you did to this item, please change it back to the tasty pot pie it used to be.
Something's changed when I initially started eating them they were amazing the homemade gravy the actual shell itself. I really really liked them. We bought tons of them. Lately the crust seem somewhat flavorless from how it used to be. I don't know what kind of engineer it takes, but pretty much all the gravy blows out of them and ends up in the bottom of the box you can't scrape it and put it back into the pot pie, cause it turns into some NASA based adhesive and you can't eat it. The ingredients are fine, but the gravy has changed because this isn't thick like it used to be, I'm not a carrots fan, but I live with them but one thing I've noticed thats changed is it's kind of difficult to find them to buy them that aren't smashed. We buy them by the case. A lot of the boxes are somewhat blown open and the pot pie itself has a lot of the crust on the top smashed off and it's in the bottom of the box that never used to happen before so I don't know if that's a change and distribution, but I can't open every box at the store and make sure I'm not getting one that's been destroyed anybody take a look at that there's an awful lot of negative comments on here. I'd love for somebody to bring the product back to the product. We all loved. for the record I would say 10% to 15% of the pot pies I buy have damage. I just added up that we're buying somewhere around 50 a week so that's quite a loss.
I used to love these chicken pot pies but the last 3 have definitely changed. The first one I noticed the top rust that use to be tender and tasty. Was like card board. I thought maybe I got a bad one so I did try again twice no change and the sauce is gummy . Nothing like how great these pies were . Obviously you made a recipe change but not a good one. So sad.
"Shrinkflation", Chicken pot pies have significantly less filling than before. Just raise the price and keep the same recipes and fill-up the shell like before. You are going to lose lots of regular customers.
While not quite like homemade, your chicken pot pies used to be tasty with a flaky crust and decent amount of creamy filling with vegetables. Is purchased them for years. Now, they taste like glue. The crust is no longer flaky and buttery, but pasty. The filling has little flavor and less veggies than it used to have. Being back the original recipe - and label the boxes so you can tell it's the original recipe - or I'll never purchase these again!
We bought a four pack of chicken pot pies about two weeks ago. The first two pies were fine, just what we normally expect. we fixed the last two yesterday and both were an extreme disappointment. Neither pie was filled to a normal level and one had hardly any filling in it. The first one had burned pie contents had been burned to the side of its container with a large hard brown mass. The second second pie was burned worse. They were inedible and thrown away.
I always buy these but the ones I just bought are really bad seems like a complete change in ingredients. No gravy - the chicken was rubbery and the pastry is like cheap biscuit. I really liked them as well but need to find an real chicken pot pie not a cheap imitation of one.
My husband and I used to love these but the garbage pie I ate today was disgusting. The dough tastes weird and it's both stale and rubbery. The filing tasted like gray sludge with a bitter aftertaste. This was our comfort food for years. Now what?
I used to buy these pot pies all of the time. I noticed that they no longer get crispy in the microwave. It seems like when you changed the packaging, it no longer gets crispy. It is very disappointing, because they used to be pretty good—bring the old packages back, that allowed for crispness.
